About Plant With Purpose
In many rural communities around the world, environmental damage and poverty aren’t separate problems. They’re the same problem.
When forests disappear, soil erodes. Farmland becomes less productive. Water sources grow more vulnerable. Families who depend on that land for food and income are left with fewer options and nowhere to turn.
Plant with Purpose works inside those communities to help reverse that cycle, not by arriving with a one-size-fits-all solution, but through locally led programs that help farmers restore their own land. Their approach combines tree planting, regenerative agriculture, watershed restoration, and community leadership within these areas.
That’s what drew us to them. Environmental restoration and poverty aren’t issues that get solved from the outside. Lasting change happens when communities have the tools and resources to care for the land they depend on, build stronger livelihoods, and pass something healthier on to the next generation.
More than planting trees
Trees are an important part of Plant with Purpose’s work, but they’re only part of the story.
In the watersheds where the organization works, trees can help hold soil in place, protect water sources, improve biodiversity, support agriculture, and make farms more resilient. Plant with Purpose works directly with local farmers to determine where trees will have the greatest impact, including farms, hillsides, riverbanks, and other vulnerable areas. Those trees are planted and cared for by the farmers themselves, on their own land and in their own communities.
That distinction matters. It’s the difference between a tree-planting event and a restoration that lasts.
Plant with Purpose and it’s partners have planted more than 82 million trees worldwide, but that number only tells part of their impact. Families in their programs reduce poverty by more than half on average and use 89% more regenerative agriculture techniques than those who don’t participate. In one study, that shift led to a 37% increase in crop yields. Tree cover is increasing across every watershed they work in, a real reversal of the roughly 0.51% of global tree cover lost each year worldwide.
Why this matters to LoadUp

Our job is to help people let go of things they no longer need, but we also believe we have a responsibility to think beyond the pickup itself. That means routing usable items to donation partners whenever we can, supporting responsible, eco-friendly disposal practices, and finding ways to use the work we do every day to benefit people and the planet.
Our partnership with Plant with Purpose is one part of that responsibility.
Every time someone books with LoadUp, their order helps us support an organization doing difficult, long-term work in communities around the world. How the LoadUp partnership works
