Refrigerators are on Sherwood's bulk pickup exclusion list. Wisconsin bans major appliances from landfills, and a certified technician must remove the refrigerant before a refrigerator, freezer, or air conditioner can be recycled or scrapped.
Sherwood holds its bulk-item pickup only once a year, in spring. In 2025 it ran May 5 and 6. Items must be at the curb by 6 a.m. on the first day because the route makes one trip through the Village and does not come back.
Sherwood residents take yard waste to the Village yard waste site, and the site accepts no plastic of any kind, including garbage bags. Wisconsin also bans yard waste from landfills, so it can't go out with household trash or on bulk day.
Sherwood's bulk pickup excludes TVs, DVD players, VCRs, and computer equipment, and Wisconsin bans these from landfills. The Village lists hazardous waste and electronic recycling events at Harrison Village Hall on April 25 and July 11, 2026. Electronics fees may apply.
