The Problem

Combined Locks has junk options, just not easy ones

You look up the village's rules, call to ask about pickup, and request quotes from a few haulers. Some answer, some never call back. Weeks go by and the junk is still sitting in the garage.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Municipal pickup schedules can work if your timing and items line up. Many programs limit what they'll accept, need you to request a spot ahead of time, and still expect you to drag everything to the curb yourself. That's tough with heavy pieces stuck in a basement.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Lots of haulers want to come out and see the job before they give you a price, and then they quote by fractions of a truckload. You won't know what you owe until they decide how much space your stuff took up.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers want things in good shape that they can resell, so stained, broken, or worn-out pieces often get turned away. You'd still have to load everything up, drive it over, and figure out what to do with whatever they say no to.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off container sounds simple until you have to book the drop-off, maybe check whether you need a permit, and give up your driveway for days. Plus you're still the one lifting every item into it, which is a lot for a single room cleanout.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Combined Locks and the rest of the Fox Cities

Hauling an old sofa in January means shoveling the driveway, scraping the windshield, and shuffling down icy steps with half a couch. Nobody here needs that kind of Saturday. Your Loader handles the lifting from the basement, garage, or yard, and genuinely likes showing up for Combined Locks neighbors, snow and all.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items pile up fast in a small village, and where they end up matters as much as getting them out. In Combined Locks, your Loader sorts each item by condition, sending it toward donation, recycling, or disposal.

Donation Pickup

Furniture and household goods that are clean and in good shape may be donated when local options allow. Your Loader sets those pieces aside from the rest of the load so they have a chance at reuse.

The Combined Locks disposal rules most residents don't know

Set out the wrong item and Combined Locks leaves it sitting at the curb. Here is how the village and Outagamie County handle common cleanout materials.

Rule 01

Wisconsin law keeps TVs and computers out of the trash

State law requires many household electronics to be recycled through an approved e-waste collector. Outagamie County's Resource Recovery Park charges per item for televisions, monitors, laptops and computer towers from households and schools only. Keyboards, cell phones and DVD players are free.

Rule 02

Snowbanks and streets are off limits for trash carts

Combined Locks uses automated tip-to-dump collection and only empties the cart the village issued, so extra bags left beside it stay behind. In winter, set carts on the driveway apron, ideally one on each side, never in the street or on a snowbank.

Rule 03

Cut the root balls off brush before curbside pickup

Village curbside brush collection runs April through October, plus two January dates for Christmas trees. Roots and root balls must be removed first and can go in the garbage cart. Brush cut by a commercial tree service is not collected.

Rule 04

Remodeling debris stays out of the village garbage cart

Under village ordinance, Combined Locks does not pick up building materials such as siding, roofing, plaster, ceiling tile, insulation, concrete, dirt, windows and doors. Outagamie County's Resource Recovery Park takes construction waste for a fee.

Rule 05

Hazardous leftovers wait for the May to October season

Outagamie County collects household hazardous waste such as oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides and pool chemicals by appointment only from May through October. It's free for eligible residents. Gasoline must be handed over in its container because it can't be poured off at the event.

Rule 06

Wisconsin keeps refrigerators and washers out of landfills

Wisconsin bans major appliances from landfills, so a dead refrigerator can't go out with household trash. Outagamie County's Resource Recovery Park charges per item for Freon appliances like freezers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and water coolers, and for washers and water heaters.

Not unless your village's trash service specifically allows it. Bulky items left out without an approved pickup can be treated as illegal dumping under local ordinances. Check with the Combined Locks village office for current bulk item rules before setting anything out.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Combined Locks starts at $90, with $5 off for curbside or driveway pickup. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge. The exact total is confirmed before booking. Truckload haulers usually charge more for small jobs.

Sometimes. Availability depends on the schedule in the Fox Cities area that day, so enter your address during booking to see open slots. Booking earlier in the day improves your odds, and next-day slots are usually easier to get.

Hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, pesticides, and car batteries generally can't go in household trash or a hauler's truck. Outagamie County runs a household hazardous waste program for these. Confirm accepted items and drop-off hours with the county before you go.

Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill. Depending on acceptance, good furniture and household goods may go to local donation partners, and recyclable materials go to recycling facilities whenever possible. Items that can't be donated or recycled are taken to a proper disposal site.

Not for curbside or driveway pickups. Leave the items out and add access notes when you book. For items inside your home, someone should be there or you can provide entry instructions. You get an arrival update before the Loader shows up.

You book online, choose your items and a pickup window, and see your price before confirming. On pickup day, Loaders arrive, carry the items out from inside or outside your home, and haul them away. You don't need to move anything to the curb first.

The main differences are pricing model and booking flow. Traditional haulers often charge by truckload and may give an estimate on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a large cleanout, a truckload hauler can still be a good fit.
