The Problem

Getting junk out of a Spring Hill house is harder than expected

You search online, call the county, leave messages with a few haulers and wait. One never calls back, another wants to come look first. Meanwhile, weekends keep passing and the junk is still sitting in the garage.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Hernando County's bulk collection through franchise haulers is a real perk, but it runs on a set schedule, often needs a call ahead, and turns away certain items. You still have to drag everything to the curb yourself, and some HOAs frown on piles sitting out.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers won't give a number until someone comes out to look, which means booking a visit just to get a quote. Then the price is based on how much of the truck your stuff seems to fill, and that guess can change once loading starts.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores and charities have limited space and turn away anything stained, worn or broken. Even good furniture can get refused when they're full. Pickup windows can be weeks out, and whatever they won't take is still left for you to deal with.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off container makes sense for a full gut renovation, not for clearing one spare bedroom. You're stuck with a delivery window, a big box taking up your driveway for days, possible HOA pushback, and you still have to carry every heavy item out and toss it in.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Spring Hill, from U.S. 19 to the Suncoast Parkway and beyond

Spring Hill was built around the car, and the car was not built around a sleeper sofa. Add Florida humidity and a long midday haul, and the weekend is gone. Your Loaders handle the lifting while you stay in the air conditioning, and everyone at LoadUp likes showing up for Spring Hill neighbors.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Most of what leaves a Spring Hill home is bulky, from sagging sofas to worn-out dressers, so where it ends up matters. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, choosing donation, recycling or disposal when local options allow.

Local Disposal Rules

The Spring Hill disposal rules most residents don't know

Misjudge the rules and a curbside pile can sit uncollected or a loaded trailer can be redirected across the county; these rules apply in Spring Hill and unincorporated Hernando County.

Rule 01

Storm cleanup piles must be sorted by debris type

After recent hurricanes, county debris pickup collected only storm-generated debris in designated zones west of US 19, with separate trucks for each material type. Appliances had to be emptied first, and the East Hernando Convenience Center did not accept storm debris.

Rule 02

Six bulk pickups a year come with Spring Hill service

Hernando County does not collect bulk items itself. The collection assessment billed with property taxes in Spring Hill's universal collection area covers six on-request bulk pickups per calendar year, and pickups beyond that limit carry an extra charge.

Rule 03

Pool and spa gear goes only to the Main Landfill

Pools, spas and related accessories such as liners and pumps are accepted only at the Northwest Solid Waste Management Facility, not the convenience centers. Pool chemicals, pesticides and solvents follow the same Main Landfill only rule, and only small residential quantities are accepted.

Rule 04

Yard waste bundles have strict length, weight and count limits

Weekly curbside yard waste is capped at 15 containers, bags or bundles, each no more than 50 pounds, 4 feet long and 4 inches in diameter. Overflow beyond the limit can be collected for an added fee, and the county offers free mulch to residents.

Rule 05

November fee waiver targets mosquito breeding in old tires

Tires are banned from curbside carts. To cut mosquito breeding sites, Hernando County offers a November fee waiver for up to eight standard automobile tires without rims per household at the Main Landfill and both convenience centers, documented with a brief form.

Rule 06

Remodeling debris is banned from carts and some drop-off sites

Bricks, blocks and large pieces of wood cannot go in curbside carts, which cannot exceed 100 pounds. The East Hernando Convenience Center does not accept interior or exterior construction debris, while the Main Landfill accepts demolition and roofing materials.

Not loose. Spring Hill is unincorporated, so Coastal Waste & Recycling handles the curb, and large items need a scheduled bulk collection. Hernando County itself does not pick up bulk items. Items left out with no pickup scheduled risk being treated as illegal dumping.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Spring Hill starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on, with the exact total confirmed before booking. Truckload haulers often start in the hundreds.

Often, depending on the schedule. Enter your address during booking to see live availability for same-day or next-day slots. For curbside pickups you generally don't need to be home. For indoor pickups, someone should be there or you can leave access instructions.

Freon appliances, propane tanks, gas items and hazardous waste are not accepted at the curb in Hernando County. Hazardous materials and commercial hazardous waste have separate rules, so call Hernando County Solid Waste at (352) 754-4112 before hauling them anywhere.

The West Hernando Convenience Center at 2525 Osowaw Blvd. takes Hernando County residents' waste, and it is closed Sunday and Monday. Accepted materials and fees differ by facility, and new fees start June 1, 2026. Call (352) 754-4770 to confirm what it takes.

Loaders aim to donate usable items to local charities and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to licensed disposal sites. Outcomes vary by item condition, so nothing is guaranteed.

You get a price online or by texting a photo of your items, then pick a time window. The price is confirmed before you book. On pickup day your Loader arrives, removes the items from the curb or from inside, and handles the hauling and disposal.

The pricing model differs. Many traditional haulers price by truck volume and may quote on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a few items that is often cheaper, while a full-house cleanout may suit a truckload hauler better.
