The Problem

Plenty of ways to ditch junk, none quite fit

You search online, call the county, leave messages with a few haulers, and wait on callbacks that never come. Another weekend goes by, and the junk is still sitting right where it was.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Pace isn't a city, so there's no city bulk pickup program. Any free collection runs through Santa Rosa County or its contracted hauler, with set schedules, item limits, and rules on how things get set out. Loose debris and big cleanouts often don't qualify.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to come out and look before giving a number, then price by how much of the truck you fill. Your total stays fuzzy until the work is done, and a quote over the phone can grow once the truck is sitting in your driveway.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores need things they can resell, so scuffed furniture, worn mattresses, and outdated electronics usually get turned away. Even items that pass inspection have to be loaded, driven over, and unloaded by you, and anything rejected comes back home.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off takes up your driveway for days, may need HOA approval, and has to fit around delivery and pickup windows. You still do all the lifting yourself, and for a single room or a pile of old exercise gear, it's far more container than you need.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Pace, from the Escambia Bay causeway to Chumuckla Highway

Plenty of Pace driveways hold a truck or trailer, yet a dump run still swallows a Saturday: loading, strapping down, then pulling onto Highway 90 and back. Your Loaders would rather do the lifting. They and LoadUp like showing up for the families here, and your weekend should belong to you.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items leave a Pace home for different reasons, and where they end up depends on their condition. Your Loader sorts each load with that in mind, favoring reuse and recycling when possible before disposal.

Donation Pickup

Furniture, exercise equipment, and other items in good, clean condition may be set aside for donation when local options allow. Your Loader can load them separately, and you can also choose a charity yourself.

Visible Wear

Recycling

Items that are worn or damaged but still hold usable metal, wood, or electronics may be taken for recycling where available. Acceptance varies, so your Loader sorts what local options will take.

  • Materials sorted and recovered
  • Diverted from landfill where possible
  • Compliant with local waste regs

Local Disposal Rules

The Pace disposal rules most residents don't know

A mismatched load can be billed at the higher landfill rate or refused outright. Here is what applies in Pace and unincorporated Santa Rosa County.

Rule 01

Small boats can go to the Central Landfill by weight

Coastal cleanouts often turn up an old skiff. The Central Landfill accepts boats with a beam less than eight feet. Boats and trailers must cross the scales, and they are billed at the Class III rate.

Rule 02

Leftover paint can be dropped off and recycled paint picked up

Santa Rosa County residents can drop off paints, stains and polyurethanes for free at the Household Hazardous Waste Center. The center also gives away recycled paint on a first come, first served basis. It cannot accept commercial, business, bulk or atypical hazards.

Rule 03

Curbside trash service in Pace is now your own choice

Santa Rosa County ended its residential garbage franchise on March 1, 2025. Unincorporated areas like Pace now choose between two permitted curbside providers. The county no longer regulates them or sets service levels, so bulk pickup terms depend on your provider.

Rule 04

Keep yard debris separate to avoid the mixed load rate

After a storm or a big yard cleanup, yard waste dropped off by itself at the Central Landfill is charged the lower yard waste rate. If you mix yard waste with household junk, the whole load is charged the higher household rate.

Rule 05

Tube televisions are excluded from the free county electronics drop-off

The Household Hazardous Waste Center takes flat screen monitors and televisions for free, along with computers, printers and other electronic devices. It does not accept CRT or projection screen TVs, so those bulky sets need a different disposal route.

Rule 06

Storm season backup batteries have a free county drop-off

The Household Hazardous Waste Center takes several battery types at no cost. These include small sealed lead acid batteries from UPS backups and emergency devices, lithium ion and Ni-Cd rechargeables, and car, boat and lawnmower batteries. The county warns that not every battery type is accepted.

Not unless your collection provider has approved it. Pace is unincorporated, so Santa Rosa County sets the solid waste rules. Items left out without an approved pickup can count as illegal dumping and be fined. Confirm bulk limits with the county before setting anything out.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Pace starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge. The exact total is confirmed before booking.

Sometimes. Availability depends on Loader schedules and demand in your area. Enter your Pace address during booking to see the open time slots. For curbside pickups you don't need to be home. For in-home pickups, someone should be there or you can leave access notes.

Paint, solvents, pesticides, batteries, and other hazardous materials usually can't go in regular household trash or a standard bulk pickup. Large construction debris often has separate limits too. Check Santa Rosa County Solid Waste for current rules, since Pace falls under county service.

Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill. Depending on acceptance, good furniture and household goods may go to local donation partners, and recyclable materials may go to recyclers. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item and condition.

You pick your items and your address online, choose a time window, and see the total before you confirm. On pickup day a Loader arrives in that window, does the lifting and hauling, and takes everything away. You don't need to move anything yourself.

The pricing model and booking flow are different. Traditional haulers such as 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King usually price by truckload and often confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online, so you see the total before anyone arrives. For large cleanouts, a truckload hauler can fit better.

It can be, if you have a truck, help with lifting, and the time. Disposal sites charge fees that vary by load and material, so check the county's current rates first. Paying for removal mainly saves you the loading, driving, and fees, which matters most for heavy or bulky items.
