Kendall County's Comfort solid waste site accepts bulky household items individually, with separate charges for mattresses or box springs, overstuffed chairs or recliners, sofas, and carpet priced by size. The site opens only on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.
The Comfort site takes household waste only, a limit the county attributes to state law. Building materials such as shingles, wood, lumber, siding, and fencing are listed as commercial or contractor waste and are not accepted, so a deck or fence teardown needs another outlet.
Comfort is unincorporated, so disaster cleanup runs through Kendall County. After the July 2025 flooding under federal declaration DR-4879, the Commissioners' Court designated trash collection days in Comfort. Watch county announcements after major storms before hauling waterlogged debris yourself.

Kendall County lists paint cans and propane tanks among the items its Comfort site will not accept. Both are common garage and barbecue leftovers in a cleanout, so sort them out before loading household trash for the county drop-off.
