The Problem

Lots of ways to ditch junk in Vilano Beach, none easy

You check the county's website, call a couple of haulers, and wait on callbacks that never come. Meanwhile the old mattress and the rusted patio set stay right where they were, another weekend gone.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Here, bulk collection runs through the county and its contracted haulers, not a town government. Pickups usually have to be requested ahead of time, come with item limits, and leave out some materials entirely. That doesn't work when a closing or guest check-in is days away.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to see the junk in person before giving you a number, and then they quote by fractions of a truckload. You won't know what you're paying until the truck is loaded. If a hauler is busy over the bridge, you may not hear back at all.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers need items they can actually resell. Patio chairs with salt-air rust, a stained mattress, or a dresser with a cracked drawer will often get turned away. You also still have to load everything and drive it there yourself.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A dumpster takes up a driveway for days on a street built for beach cottages. Your HOA or the county may have placement rules to check, delivery has to be scheduled, and you still do all the lifting. For one cleared-out room, it's more than you need.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Vilano Beach, from the Intracoastal to the Atlantic

Salt air turns a patio chair into a rust project, and sand somehow ends up in every cushion you own. Nobody wants to spend a Saturday hauling that to a dump themselves. Your Loaders do the lifting, carrying, and loading, because we love showing up for the neighbors who keep this corner of the coast so easygoing.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items pile up fast in a beach community where salt air and sand wear down furniture. In Vilano Beach, what happens after pickup depends on condition, and your Loader sorts each item toward donation, recycling, or disposal.

Donation Pickup

Sofas, dressers, and patio sets that are clean and still sturdy may be donated when local options allow. Your Loader can set those pieces aside for that route, though acceptance varies and isn't guaranteed.

  • Tax-deductible receipt by request
  • Diverts waste from landfill
  • Free up your space and help a neighbor

Visible Wear

Recycling

Items that are worn but not donatable, such as scrapped metal frames, or some appliances and electronics, may be recycled where available. Handling options change, so your Loader follows what local outlets currently accept.

  • Materials sorted and recovered
  • Diverted from landfill where possible
  • Compliant with local waste regs

Heavily Damaged

Responsible Disposal

Waterlogged mattresses, rusted-out lounge chairs, and heavily damaged furniture usually can't be reused. Your Loader carries these out and takes them to an appropriate disposal site, and hazardous materials like paint or fuel aren't included.

  • No logistics or transport to handle
  • No sorting or drop-off required on your end
  • Local disposal fees covered

Local Disposal Rules

The Vilano Beach disposal rules most residents don't know

Set debris out wrong and it simply sits at the curb uncollected. In Vilano Beach, collection follows St. Johns County Solid Waste Division rules, including these.

Rule 01

Old fencing and landscape timbers do not count as yard waste

St. Johns County excludes fencing, landscape timbers, planters and yard decorations from curbside yard waste. Salt-air-weathered fences and decks often contain pressure treated wood, which Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road transfer stations accept for a prorated fee.

Rule 02

Rechargeable lithium batteries never belong in curbside bins

County solid waste staff warn that phone and laptop batteries can overheat and start fires once tossed in curbside trash bags, cans or recycling bins. Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road transfer stations accept them as a free drop-off instead.

Rule 03

After a hurricane, storm debris must be sorted into separate piles

St. Johns County asks residents to separate household garbage, construction debris, vegetation and damaged appliances into piles at least three feet from obstacles. Gated communities need a current Right of Entry form on file before storm debris collection can enter.

Rule 04

Furniture goes curbside, but appliances need a scheduled collection

Couches, sectionals, mattresses and other household furniture can sit at the curb beside regular garbage. Appliances are recycled curbside by scheduling a collection with the Solid Waste Division, and anything placed in front of a vacant lot will not be collected.

Rule 05

Palm fronds should face away from the curb when stacked

County guidelines call for fronds stacked with the fan portion facing away from the curb. Branches and stumps can be no longer than six feet or heavier than 50 pounds, and piles that must be pulled apart will not be collected.

Rule 06

Pool chemicals and paint have a dedicated transfer station drop-off

St. Johns County accepts household hazardous waste such as pool chemicals, pesticides, aerosol cans and antifreeze at its transfer stations. Latex and oil-based paint carry a per-gallon charge, and a driver's license showing a current county address serves as proof of residence.

Only what county collection covers. St. Johns County Solid Waste collects household garbage, recycling, yard debris and bulky waste curbside, set out by 6 am on your collection day. Piles left outside those rules risk being treated as illegal dumping.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Vilano Beach starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge. The exact total is confirmed before booking.

Sometimes, depending on Loader availability for your address. Enter your Vilano Beach address during booking to see the open time slots. For curbside pickups you generally don't need to be home, and for in-home jobs you can leave access notes.

Special waste is not collected curbside in St. Johns County. That includes tires, construction and demolition debris, and household hazardous waste like paint and chemicals. Bags and cans also can't exceed 50 lbs. Those items go to a county transfer station instead.

Loaders aim to donate usable items to local charities and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be reused or recycled goes to licensed disposal sites. Donation and recycling aren't guaranteed for every item.

You pick your items online, get an upfront quote, and choose a pickup window. A Loader arrives, removes the items from where you've pointed, and hauls them away. You can also book curbside or driveway pickup for the $5 discount.

The county transfer stations work well if you have a truck, time, and only a few household items. A hauler makes more sense for heavy or bulky loads, since Loaders do the lifting and hauling. LoadUp prices per item online, while truckload haulers like 1-800-GOT-JUNK often quote by volume.
