Junk has a way of piling up until it's one more thing on the list. Book a quick pickup in PVB, see your price upfront, and get your space back.
You search online, call the county, and request a few hauler quotes. One sends a vague range, another never calls back. Two weekends go by, and the junk is still sitting in the garage.
St. Johns County curbside collection can handle some bulky household items, but limits apply. Pickups usually need to be scheduled ahead, some materials are excluded, and everything has to be dragged to the street first. That's a real problem for heavy pieces stuck upstairs or out on the lanai.
Many haulers want to come out and look before they'll give you a number. Then they quote by fractions of a truck, which is hard to picture when you're standing in your garage. You often don't know the final cost until the truck is already loaded.
Local thrift and donation centers have to be selective. Furniture with stains, wear, or missing parts often gets turned away, and many won't accept mattresses or older appliances at all. Even when they say yes, you're usually the one loading it and driving it over.
A roll-off container sounds simple until you're arranging delivery and pickup and checking whether your neighborhood association allows one in the driveway. Then it sits outside for days, possibly marking the pavers. For a single room or a few bulky pieces, it's far more than you need.

Anyone who has lived here through tournament week in March knows a dump run in that traffic is a bad bet. So skip it. Your Loaders will carry the old sofa out of the garage or lanai and load it up, because the people who keep this place so quiet and well kept deserve an easy Saturday.
Ponte Vedra Beach homes tend to hold large pieces, from sectionals to patio sets, and where they end up matters. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, so reuse or recycling can happen when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods in clean, usable shape may be donated when possible. Your Loader carries them out and loads them, but please don't count on any documentation for tax purposes.
Items that are worn or damaged but still hold usable materials, like metal frames or some appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader takes them, and outcomes depend on local options.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken bulky items that can't be reused or recycled are disposed of responsibly. Your Loader removes them from your Ponte Vedra Beach property and handles the loading.
A pile set out the wrong way just stays at the curb. Ponte Vedra Beach is unincorporated, so these St. Johns County rules apply to every cleanout.
County yard waste guidelines ask that palm fronds be stacked with the fan facing away from the curb. Branches must stay under six feet and 50 pounds. Any pile that has to be pulled apart to load will not be collected.
St. Johns County accepts obsolete electronics at both the Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road transfer stations during regular operating hours, not only at special collection events. Accepted items include monitors, televisions, laptops, printers, game hardware, small kitchen appliances, and power tools.
After a declared major disaster, storm debris collection will not enter a gated community unless the HOA or property manager has a current Right of Entry form on file. Separate garbage, construction debris, vegetation, and damaged appliances, and keep piles three feet from obstacles.
Couches and other bulky items can go at the curb next to regular garbage on collection day. Appliances are different: they are recycled curbside after residents contact the Solid Waste Division to schedule a pickup. White goods can also go to either county transfer station.
Household hazardous waste is not collected curbside. The county holds free Community Collection Day events on select Saturdays that accept pool chemicals, propane cylinders, fire extinguishers, and paint. Paint dropped off at the transfer stations on other days is charged by the gallon.
St. Johns County does not collect construction and demolition debris curbside. Pressure-treated wood and residential construction debris are accepted at the Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road transfer stations for a fee. You'll need a driver's license that shows a current county address.

Large appliances, microwaves, yard debris, household garbage, and construction debris were excluded from past county collection events. Those events took paint, oil, batteries, and old electronics at Tillman Ridge, 3005 Allen Nease Rd. Call (904) 827-6980 to confirm current rules.
Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them to local charities whenever options allow. Recyclable materials go to recycling facilities depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be donated or recycled is taken to an appropriate disposal facility.
Tell LoadUp where the Loaders are going, what needs to go, and pick a day and time block. You see upfront pricing before you confirm. On pickup day the Loaders arrive in that window, load everything, and haul it away.
The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers like 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King generally price by truckload, often confirmed on site. LoadUp prices per item online and shows the total before you book. For large cleanouts, a truckload quote may suit you better.
