Junk has a way of piling up until it's one more thing on the list. Book LoadUp, see your real price upfront, and get it picked up fast, no hassle.
You search online, call the county, and wait for callbacks from haulers. Some send quotes, some never get back to you. Weeks later, the junk is still in the garage, right where you left it.
La Selva Beach is unincorporated, so you won't find a city bulk pickup program here. Any county pickup has to be booked ahead and comes with item limits. It also depends on you getting everything to the curb yourself, which isn't easy on a long driveway or a sloped lot.
Many haulers want to come look at the job before they'll give you a price. Then they quote by fractions of a truckload, so you only find out what you're paying once everything is loaded. That makes comparing your options mostly guesswork.
Thrift stores turn away stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and anything broken or missing parts, and that's fair. But it means you load up the car, drive down Highway 1, and come home with half of it still in the back.
For a single garage corner or spare room, a dumpster is more box than you need. You have to book the drop-off and the pickup, find space for it on a narrow residential street, and leave it sitting in front of the house for days.

Your Loader carries junk from a packed backyard shed, up a sloped side yard, and through a narrow gate. Each Loader is background-checked and rated by real locals in La Selva Beach after each job.
If the treadmill or old patio chairs are already sitting in your driveway, curbside is the simple choice. If a mattress is still upstairs or a dresser is wedged into a garage corner, choose full-service and your Loaders will carry it out from where it sits.

Borrowing a truck, finding a free Saturday, and driving a sofa out of town is a lot to ask in a place this tucked away. Your Loaders lift, carry, and load it from the garage or side yard instead. They like showing up for La Selva Beach neighbors, who deserve a calmer weekend.
Where an item ends up matters as much as getting it out of your garage. In La Selva Beach, your Loader sorts each load by condition, so reuse and recycling are considered when local options allow.
Furniture, sporting gear, and other items in clean, usable shape may be donated when possible. Your Loader can set these aside, though donation receipts are not something to expect or count on.
Items that are worn or damaged but not fit for donation, like a broken appliance or old electronics, may be recycled where available. Local and state rules vary, so outcomes are not guaranteed.
Heavily damaged or soiled bulky items, such as a water-ruined mattress or a collapsed sofa, are responsibly disposed of. Your Loader lifts and loads them from wherever they sit, and hazardous materials are not accepted.
Putting the wrong item in the trash can lead to a hazardous waste violation or a steep dumping fine. These rules apply in La Selva Beach and unincorporated Santa Cruz County.
California law requires refrigerants, mercury switches and PCB-containing parts to be removed from major appliances before they are crushed, baled or recycled. Because of this, a fridge, freezer or air conditioner can't simply go out with scrap metal or regular trash.
California's SB 1383 took effect in 2022 and requires residents to keep organic waste such as yard trimmings, leaves and branches out of the trash. Organics buried in landfills give off methane, so debris from winter storm cleanup belongs in green waste collection.
La Selva Beach is in unincorporated Santa Cruz County. There, illegal dumping fines now start at $2,500 for a first offense and $5,000 for a second, with higher amounts for repeat violations. The County has also put surveillance cameras at known dumping spots.
California treats televisions, computer monitors and many other electronic devices as universal waste because they can contain lead, mercury and other metals. They are banned from household trash and have to go to an authorized e-waste collector or recycler.
GreenWaste customers in unincorporated Santa Cruz County can get three bulky item pickups and four extra bin setouts each year at no extra cost. The program covers large items such as furniture and appliances, and pickups are scheduled ahead of time.
California law bans all household batteries from the trash, including everyday alkaline AA and AAA cells. Lithium-ion batteries are a growing cause of fires in garbage trucks and recycling plants, so they need to be recycled separately with their terminals taped.

(678) 884-4738Not unless it is part of a scheduled pickup. La Selva Beach is unincorporated, so Santa Cruz County rules apply, and items left out without an arranged collection can be treated as illegal dumping. Check with your county-franchised hauler about bulky item service.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in La Selva Beach starts at $75, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.
Same-day pickup is sometimes possible, but it depends on Loader availability near Aptos and Watsonville. Enter your address during booking to see the real openings for your location. For curbside pickups you generally don't need to be home.
You can self-haul to the Buena Vista Landfill in Watsonville, which charges fees for loads. Hazardous items such as paint, solvents, and batteries are banned from regular trash. Residents can drop those off at the county household hazardous waste facility, call 831-454-2606 for days.
Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them to local charities when options allow. They also try to recycle metal, cardboard, and e-waste whenever possible. What can't be donated or recycled goes to the appropriate disposal facility.
Pick your items and address online, see the total price upfront, and choose a time window. On pickup day your Loader typically calls before arriving, then carries out, loads, and hauls away the items. You can leave access notes if you won't be home.
The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers like 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King typically price by truckload and may confirm the cost on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before you book, which suits small jobs well.
If you have a truck and time, driving a small load to the Buena Vista Landfill in Watsonville is usually cheaper. A hauler makes sense when you lack a vehicle, have heavy pieces, or want the loading and drive handled for you.
