Junk has a way of piling up until it's a hassle you keep putting off. Book a quick LoadUp pickup in Cap, see your real price first, and get your space back.
You search online, call the hauler that serves your street, request a few quotes, and wait. One company never calls back, another wants to come look first. Meanwhile the pile in the garage stays right where it was.
Your city bulk pickup program can be a good deal, but there are limits. You usually have to schedule ahead, stick to certain item types and quantities, and drag everything to the curb yourself. That's tough on a steep driveway or a lot with no curb space.
Lots of haulers want to see the job in person before they'll give you a number, and then they price it by how much of the truck you fill. You don't know the real total until the truck is loaded and the work is basically done.
Thrift stores and charities have to be careful about what they accept. Stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and broken furniture often get turned away. That leaves you hauling it back home or hunting for yet another place to take it.
A roll-off sized for a remodel is a lot of container for a few bulky pieces. On narrow Capitola streets you may need a permit, a clear place to park it, and neighbors who don't mind it sitting there. And you still do all the lifting yourself.

Parking in Capitola Village is already a sport on a sunny weekend, and nobody wants to double-park a couch down a narrow street. Your Loader handles the stairs, the tight turns, and the carrying, so you lift nothing. Your Loaders genuinely like showing up for the neighbors who keep this little town running.
Bulky items rarely end up in the same place, and in a compact city like Capitola where garages and driveways are tight, sorting by condition matters. Your Loader helps match each item to donation, recycling, or disposal when local options allow.
Furniture, bikes, and household goods in good, clean condition may be set aside for donation when possible. Your Loader can carry them out, though acceptance depends on local donation channels and current needs.
Items that are worn or damaged but not donatable, such as some metal, electronics, or appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader will handle the hauling, and options depend on local programs and item condition.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or contaminated bulky items, like a ruined mattress or broken furniture, may go to a licensed disposal site in the Santa Cruz County area when no reuse or recycling option fits.
Putting items in the wrong cart, box, or drain can contaminate recycling or carry pollutants toward Monterey Bay, so these rules apply in Capitola and Santa Cruz County.
In Capitola, water from indoor drains flows to the wastewater treatment plant, while outdoor storm drains and drainage ditches are meant for rain only. Rinsing paint, cleaning products, or garage cleanout debris into the street skips treatment entirely.
In Capitola, electronic waste weighing under 40 pounds and measuring less than 2 feet in any direction can go in the blue recycling container. Larger electronics, such as a big TV, are scheduled for curbside pickup as a bulky item for a small fee.
Construction debris is not part of Capitola's standard curbside service and requires a separate debris box. Only the 10-yard box accepts dirt, asphalt, concrete, and brick, the heaviest materials. Covered remodels also fall under California's CALGreen rule to recycle 65 percent of debris.
Twice a year, Capitola households can set out one bulky item plus up to seven bags or cans of garbage, each no heavier than 50 pounds, on their regular service day. Items must be curbside by 6 a.m., and household hazardous waste is excluded.
Capitola combines food scraps and yard waste in the green organics cart, in line with California's requirement to divert organic waste from landfills. Yard clippings from post-storm cleanups go there, along with coffee grounds, coffee filters, paper, and pumpkins.
Santa Cruz County's Buena Vista Landfill accepts mattresses, box springs, and recyclable metal appliances free of charge, according to Capitola's recycling guidance. Hauling them there yourself avoids the small fee for the city's year-round curbside bulky pickup, which needs 72 hours' notice.

Yes. Twice a year, during the city's spring and fall neighborhood cleanup weeks, each household can set out one bulky item plus up to seven bags or cans of garbage at no extra charge. Anything beyond that needs a paid pickup.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Capitola starts at $75 for the first item, which includes the pickup fee. Each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking. Curbside or outdoor pickup takes $5 off.
Availability depends on the day and crew schedules near Capitola, so enter your address during booking to see live openings. Many jobs can be scheduled within a day or two. For outdoor pickups, you don't need to be home.
Hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, chemicals, and batteries generally can't go in a normal junk load or the curb cart. They need a household hazardous waste drop-off, so check Santa Cruz County's program before booking a cleanout that includes them.
Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to the appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition and what local partners will take.
Pick your items online, see the upfront price, and choose a time window. Loaders call before arriving, then haul the items from inside your home, garage, or curb. The first item includes the pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on.
