When junk piles up around the Gateway to the Smokies, it gets old fast. Book a quick pickup, see your real price upfront, and get your space back.
You search online, call the county about drop-off, and leave messages with haulers who may not cover a town this size. A few never call back. Weeks go by, and the pile in the shed hasn't moved.
Small towns don't always run a city bulk pickup program, and where one exists it usually comes with tight rules. Appliances, mattresses, or renovation debris may be turned away, and nothing gets carried from your basement or up a gravel driveway to the road.
Lots of haulers want to drive out and look before they'll give you a number. In rural areas that can mean waiting days for a visit, then hearing a truckload estimate that changes once the job starts. You're left guessing until the truck pulls away.
Thrift stores and donation centers depend on items they can actually resell, so stained couches, broken appliances, and worn mattresses tend to get refused. You might haul a full load into town and drive most of it back home again.
A dumpster takes up your driveway for days and may need a level spot that a sloped lot can't offer. You still have to schedule delivery and pickup, do all the lifting yourself, and pay for space you'll probably never fill.

Anyone here knows a trip to the drop-off site means a borrowed truck, a long gravel driveway, and a winding road that eats half a Saturday. Your Loaders handle the lifting and loading, from porches, sheds, and sloped lots. Neighbors here look out for each other, and your Loaders are glad to do the same.
Where a couch, mattress, or old appliance ends up matters as much as getting it out of the house. In Andrews, your Loaders sort each item by condition, so reuse and recycling happen when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods in good, clean condition may be donated when local options allow. Your Loaders set those pieces apart from the rest, though availability of nearby donation outlets can vary in a rural area.
Items that are worn but not fit for donation may be recycled where available, such as scrap metal from appliances. Your Loaders separate what can be recycled, and nearby outlets can be limited.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken bulky items that can't be reused or recycled are taken for responsible disposal. Your Loaders handle the lifting and loading, including from sloped or gravel driveways.
Bringing the wrong load to the wrong Cherokee County site can mean a wasted drive to Marble or weight-based charges, so know these Andrews and Cherokee County rules first.
Cherokee County residents can drop off appliances at the landfill in Marble at no charge. North Carolina bans white goods from landfill burial, and the county Solid Waste Department asks residents to call ahead for metal and appliance instructions.
The Andrews Police Department keeps a prescription drop box open 24/7 for pills, patches, and capsules sealed in zippered bags. It does not take liquids, over-the-counter medications, or sharps. The town suggests sealing liquid medicine in a bag with kitty litter or coffee grounds and putting it in household trash.
County ordinance limits convenience centers to Cherokee County residents and taxpayers disposing of residential solid waste, and businesses are prohibited from using them. Anything beyond bagged household trash and recyclables goes to the landfill, where waste may be inspected and is charged by weight.
Since 2011, state law has kept televisions and computer equipment out of North Carolina landfills so their materials can be recovered. The NC Department of Environmental Quality lists the Cherokee County Landfill in Marble as an electronics collection site.
The county sends brush and yard waste to the Solid Waste Landfill, not the neighborhood convenience centers, and residents pay by weight for it. Burning is limited too, because North Carolina air rules prohibit burning household trash or building materials.
The Cherokee County landfill does not accept liquids, and hazardous waste requires special instructions from the Solid Waste Department. Used motor oil and oil filters, however, are accepted at the convenience centers and the county recycling facility.

Sometimes. Availability depends on Loader schedules and how far your address is from the nearest route. Rural addresses around Andrews may have fewer open slots. Enter your address when booking to see live times. Curbside pickups don't require you to be home.
Hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, pesticides, fuel, and propane tanks are generally not accepted by junk haulers or curbside trash. Take them to a county hazardous waste event or the Cherokee County solid waste facility. Ask them what they accept first.
Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance at local facilities. Items that can't be reused or recycled are taken to an appropriate disposal site. Outcomes vary by item condition, so none are guaranteed.
You pick your items and enter your Andrews address online, then choose a time window. You see your total before you confirm. Your Loader usually gives a heads-up before arriving. They pick up the items, load them, and haul them away.
The difference is the pricing model. Many traditional haulers price by truck space and may confirm the final cost on site. LoadUp prices per item online, and the total is confirmed before booking. A hauler can be a better fit for a whole-house cleanout.
It can be, if you have a truck and the time. Cherokee County's solid waste facilities may charge by weight or load, and fees and accepted items change. Call them to confirm. Paying a hauler makes more sense for heavy items, stairs, or a limited schedule.
