The Problem

Getting rid of junk here takes more than a plan

You check what your city's bulk program covers, call a few haulers, and wait on callbacks that never come. Meanwhile, the garage stays full and another weekend slips by with the junk still sitting there.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland each run their own programs, so what works for a neighbor across the river may not apply to you. Requests usually need planning ahead, item limits apply, and you still have to drag everything to the curb yourself.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to see the job in person before they give you a number, then price by how much of the truck you fill. You often don't know the final cost until the load is on board and you've already committed.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores and charities have to be choosy about condition, so stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and broken furniture often get turned away. Even items they accept usually need to be dropped off by you, which means loading and driving.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off container makes sense for a full remodel, not a spare bedroom cleanout. You still do every bit of the lifting, it takes up the driveway for days, and some HOAs in newer subdivisions have rules about where it can sit.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving the Tri-Cities, on both sides of the Columbia

Anyone who has tried to strap a mattress down on a windy Tri-Cities afternoon knows how that story ends, usually with a bungee cord and some regret. Skip the dump run. Your Loaders lift, load, and haul it away, and LoadUp and your Loaders genuinely like showing up for neighbors here.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items rarely end up in one place, and that matters in the Tri-Cities, where garage cleanouts and remodels are common. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, so reuse is considered first and disposal comes last.

Gently Used

Donation Pickup

Furniture, appliances, and household goods in good, clean condition may be donated when local options allow. Your Loader sets those pieces aside during loading, with no promise of a receipt or paperwork.

  • Tax-deductible receipt by request
  • Diverts waste from landfill
  • Free up your space and help a neighbor

Visible Wear

Recycling

Items that are worn or damaged but not fit for donation, like old metal frames or broken appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them from the rest of the load when possible.

  • Materials sorted and recovered
  • Diverted from landfill where possible
  • Compliant with local waste regs

Heavily Damaged

Responsible Disposal

Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken bulky items that can't be reused or recycled are taken by your Loader for responsible disposal. The destination depends on the item and on what's available near Kennewick, Pasco, or Richland.

  • No logistics or transport to handle
  • No sorting or drop-off required on your end
  • Local disposal fees covered

Local Disposal Rules

The Tri-Cities disposal rules most residents don't know

Bring a load to the wrong facility and you can be sent somewhere else. These Tri-Cities and Benton County rules show which items go where.

Rule 01

Propane tanks skip the county hazardous waste facility

Benton County's Moderate Risk Waste Facility does not accept compressed cylinders, and Kennewick curbside recycling excludes propane tanks of any size. Richland's Horn Rapids Landfill does accept propane tanks and canisters, making it the listed local option for old grill tanks.

Rule 02

Kennewick's free disposal program allows one mattress per trip

Active WM residential customers in Kennewick get six free trips per calendar year, each capped at 2.5 yards, roughly a level-loaded 8-foot truck bed. Only one mattress is allowed per trip, and state law requires every load be covered.

Rule 03

Fluorescent tubes need a LightRecycle Washington drop-off

Kennewick garbage and recycling carts exclude fluorescent bulbs, and Horn Rapids Landfill does not take high-intensity light bulbs. LightRecycle Washington accepts compact fluorescent lights, fluorescent tubes, and high intensity discharge lights at participating retailers in Kennewick, Richland, and Benton City.

Rule 04

Latex paint can be hardened and trashed in Kennewick

WM's Kennewick guidelines allow latex paint in the garbage once it is solidified with kitty litter or paint hardener. Oil-based paints go to Benton County's Moderate Risk Waste Facility, which caps each visit at 20 containers or 50 gallons.

Rule 05

Televisions and computers stay out of Kennewick garbage carts

Richland's Horn Rapids Landfill does not accept e-waste either. E-Cycle Washington offers free recycling of televisions, computer towers, laptops, monitors, e-readers, and portable DVD players at participating Benton County sites. Richland notes proper disposal keeps hazardous materials from leaking into the water supply.

Rule 06

Vape pens and lithium batteries are refused at county facility

Benton County's Moderate Risk Waste Facility does not accept alkaline, lithium-ion, or lithium metal batteries, including e-cigarettes and vape pens. Kennewick garbage guidelines also keep batteries out of carts to prevent fires. Horn Rapids Landfill accepts automotive and rechargeable batteries.

Generally no. Bulk items set out without an arranged pickup from your hauler or city can be treated as illegal dumping under Washington litter laws, and rules differ in Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland. Check with your city or garbage hauler before setting anything out.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in the Tri-Cities starts at $95 for a single item, with $5 off for curbside or outdoor pickup. The first item includes the base pickup fee and each additional item is a flat add-on, with the exact total confirmed before booking. Traditional haulers usually price by truckload.

Same-day slots are sometimes available, but it depends on Loader schedules in your area that day. Next-day is more dependable. Enter your address during booking to see which times are open for Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, or West Richland.

Not for curbside or outdoor pickups. Leave the items in an accessible spot and add access notes at booking. For items inside your home or garage, someone should be there or you can provide entry instructions. Your Loader reaches out before arriving.

Hazardous items such as paint, solvents, pesticides, and chemicals usually can't go in household trash or on a hauler's truck. Large or oversized items may also need special pickup or a transfer station drop-off. Confirm with your city or Benton County solid waste office first.

Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them to local thrift stores or charities when they accept them. Recyclable materials go to recycling facilities whenever possible. What can't be donated or recycled is taken to an appropriate disposal facility.

You pick your items and a time window online, and the total price is shown before you confirm. On pickup day your Loader arrives in the window, loads everything, and takes it away. You aren't required to rearrange or haul anything yourself.

The main difference is the pricing model. Many traditional haulers charge by truckload and may confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online, so you see the total before booking. For a large cleanout, a truckload hauler can still be a good fit.
