Treasure Island groups white goods with bulk items under its Special Pickups service, which must be scheduled in advance with Waste Pro, the city's collection contractor since October 2025. Appliances appear on the list of items accepted at the curb.
Treasure Island points residents to Pinellas County's mobile collections, which exist so household chemicals and unwanted household electronics can be disposed of safely. The county publishes a schedule and a list of acceptable and non-acceptable items worth checking before you go.
Yard waste rides in the grey cart on trash days, and overflow must be bagged or securely bundled and kept to two cubic yards or less. Never pile it in the roadway, where it can clog storm drains and flood streets.
Treasure Island collects single-stream recycling once a week, on Wednesdays, in the blue cart. When collection resumed after Hurricane Helene, the city specifically reminded residents not to place waste in recycling containers, so overflow trash belongs in the grey cart or a bulk pickup.
Each Treasure Island residence gets four curbside bulk collections per year at no additional cost, covering items like furniture, mattresses and box springs. Each pickup is capped at two cubic yards, individual items should not exceed 50 pounds, and extra requests carry a special fee.
