Junk has a way of piling up until it's all you see. In the Quiet Corner, LoadUp makes clearing it out simple: see your price upfront, book a pickup, get your space back.
You check the town website, call about transfer station rules, and leave messages with a few haulers. One calls back, another never does. Meanwhile the junk is still in the garage, and another season has slipped by.
Rural towns like Pomfret often run things through a transfer station or permit system rather than a regular pickup schedule. That usually means loading the truck yourself, sorting items by type, and making the trip during open hours. Some bulky or regulated items may need extra steps.
Many old-school haulers want to see the job in person before they give you a number, then price it by how much of the truck you fill. You often don't know the final cost until the truck is already loaded.
Donation spots have to be careful about what they accept, so worn upholstery, scuffed dressers, or older appliances often get turned away. You can end up driving a load across Windham County only to bring half of it back home.
A roll-off container makes sense for a full gut renovation, but not for one cluttered room. You plan around delivery and pickup dates, find a level spot that won't rut the lawn, and still carry every heavy piece out and lift it over the side yourself.

Out here, a trip to get rid of one old sofa means winding back roads, a truck bed full of rope and worry, and a second run when something doesn't fit. Nobody needs that. Your Loaders carry it out and load it up, and they genuinely like showing up for the neighbors in this village.
Out in a quiet village like Pomfret Landing, nearby donation and recycling options can be limited, so where an item ends up matters. Your Loader sorts each pickup by condition, aiming to keep usable things out of landfills.
Furniture and household goods that are clean and in good shape may be donated when local options allow. Your Loader sets those items aside and loads them separately from the rest.
Items that are worn or damaged but not ready for donation may be recycled where available, such as scrap metal from old appliances. Your Loader separates these pieces when local options make that possible.
Heavily damaged or contaminated bulky items, like soaked sofas or broken furniture, are taken for responsible disposal. Your Loader handles the carrying and loading, and the exact destination depends on local facilities.
Failing the residency check, arriving off-schedule, or breaking transfer station regulations can cost you the trip or a permit, so these rules apply in Pomfret Landing, Windham County.
Pomfret allows open burning of brush only, and you must get a free permit first. It is generally good for one month. State rules define brush as prunings no wider than three inches, and leaves and grass do not count.
Pomfret's transfer station takes residential bulky waste and recyclables but not household garbage. Residents use private trash service or one of 50 annual Woodstock transfer station permits. Those permits are sold first come, first served and assigned to a specific vehicle.
The swap area at the transfer station takes items too good to throw away. Examples include furniture in good condition, tools and hardware, and children's toys in good condition. Volunteers check each item first, and some things are not accepted.
Renovation, demolition and construction debris is listed as bulky waste at the Nora Lane site. However, the town bans dump trucks and commercial dumping, and users unload their own vehicles, which limits how much one project can bring.
Chemicals and other household hazardous waste are not accepted during regular transfer station hours. Pomfret joins a regional collection held only every other year. Hazardous products left over from a garage cleanout may need to be stored until the next event.
The Nora Lane transfer station replaced the town's old bulky waste events and is free for Pomfret residents. It opens only one Friday and Saturday a month from spring through fall, so bulky items from a winter cleanout have to wait until it reopens.

It takes residential bulky waste from Pomfret residents on set days, not household trash. Dumping outside those channels risks illegal dumping penalties.

Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them when local charities accept them. They try to recycle metal, electronics, and other materials whenever possible. Anything that can't be donated or recycled goes to the appropriate disposal facility.
You choose your items and enter your Pomfret Landing address online. Then you pick a time window and see the total price before you confirm. On pickup day, Loaders arrive, handle all the lifting and loading, and take the items away, so you don't have to carry anything.
The main difference is how the price is set. Many traditional haulers price by truckload and confirm the quote on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a large cleanout that fills a truck, a truckload quote may fit better.
