When junk piles up, it stops being a small chore and starts weighing on you. Book LoadUp for a quick pickup and a clear price upfront, so Pete's Burg stays clutter-free.
You search online, call around about pickup rules, and leave messages for a few haulers. One calls back, another never does. Meanwhile the pile in the garage stays put, and another weekend slips by.
City bulk pickup programs can help, but they usually come with rules about what goes out, when it goes out, and how you request it. If your timing doesn't match the schedule, or your items fall outside the accepted list, you're back to waiting.
Many haulers want to see the job in person before they'll quote it, then price by how much of the truck you fill. That makes the final number hard to predict, and you may not know what you're paying until the truck is already loaded.
Donation centers have to be choosy about condition, so worn upholstery, scuffed pieces, or anything missing parts often gets turned away. Even when something qualifies, you still have to get it there yourself, and much of a household clear-out won't make the cut.
A roll-off container makes sense for a full renovation, but for a basement or spare room it's a lot. You coordinate drop-off and pickup, may need permission to place it, and live with a bulky bin in the driveway that neighbors notice.

If your place has a basement full of decades of stuff, a detached garage that doubles as a second attic, and no pickup in the driveway, you are far from alone here. Hauling it all yourself can swallow a weekend. Your Loader does the carrying and loading, and showing up for neighbors here is the best part.
Bulky items are hard to move alone, and where they end up matters as much as getting them out of the house. In Petersburg, your Loader sorts each load by condition, favoring reuse when local options allow.
Furniture, household goods, and other items in good, clean condition may be set aside for donation when local options allow. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading, so you skip the extra trip.
Items that are worn or damaged but not donatable, like scrap metal or old appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them from the rest of the load when possible.
Heavily damaged or contaminated bulky items, such as waterlogged furniture or broken-down debris from a garage, go to an appropriate disposal site. Your Loader carries them out and loads them for you.
Using plastic leaf bags or lighting a burn barrel can mean piles that are not collected or an ordinance violation, so here is what applies in Petersburg and across Menard County.
Menard County's electronics recycling events list microwaves, kitchen items, dehumidifiers and humidifiers, vacuums, and appliances as unacceptable. The Petersburg Street Department's curbside pickup also excludes appliances, so these items need their own disposal plan apart from electronics or yard waste.
The Petersburg Street Department collects residential yard waste on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Bags must be paper and under 40 lbs. Limbs and brush cuttings can't exceed 40 lbs or 8 feet. Plastic bags of any kind won't be picked up.
After a disaster is declared, the Illinois EPA allows open burning of disaster debris through its Disaster Area Open Burning Permit Application. That debris includes tree limbs, brush, natural wood, clean wood building debris, and lumber that the disaster caused.
Petersburg ordinance prohibits burning trash in burn barrels, and every household within city limits is required to have garbage collection. Most trash and debris that is properly bundled or contained can go to the curb on your regular service day instead.
Menard County electronics recycling events at the courthouse parking lot have accepted Christmas tree lights, power tools including batteries, video game consoles, and desktop computers. Televisions and monitors have carried an extra per-item fee, so check the current event list first.
The Petersburg Street Department won't take brick, block, lumber, or other construction material with yard waste. Loose material, tires, and ashes are also excluded, so remodeling leftovers mixed into brush piles won't be collected on pickup day.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Petersburg starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.
Sometimes. Same-day slots depend on Loader availability in the Springfield area, which covers Petersburg. Enter your address during booking to see which dates and time windows are open. Next-day and scheduled pickups are usually easier to get.
For curbside or driveway pickups, no. Leave the items out and add access notes at booking. For items inside your home, garage, or basement, someone should be there, or you can leave clear access instructions. Your Loader gives notice before arriving.
Hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, chemicals, and batteries generally can't go in household trash. Illinois also restricts landfilling of items like electronics. Large or restricted items usually need a special drop-off, so confirm with city hall or your hauler.
Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them to local charities or thrift stores when options allow. They try to recycle metal, cardboard, and electronics where facilities accept them. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to a proper disposal facility.
You pick your items and your address online, choose a time window, and see your total before you confirm. On pickup day your Loader arrives, confirms the items, and removes them. You don't need to haggle over an on-site estimate.
The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers often price by truckload and may give an estimate on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms your total before booking. For a full-house cleanout, a truckload hauler may suit you better.
