The Problem

Ocean Pines has options. None of them do the lifting.

You search for options, call the county, and leave messages with two haulers. One quotes a vague range, and the other never calls back. Weeks later, everything is still sitting in the garage, waiting for a plan.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

In this part of Worcester County, the public option generally means hauling items to a county convenience center yourself, not a scheduled truck. Residents need a permit or pay-per-bag tags, remodeling debris like drywall and cabinetry is excluded, and everything has to fit in your vehicle.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Plenty of haulers want to walk the property before naming a number, which means taking time off to meet them. Then the quote comes in fractions of a truckload, and the final figure can shift once the bed is loaded and the guesswork is over.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores and charities have to resell what they accept, so stained upholstery, scuffed particleboard, and older appliances often get turned down. Pieces they do want usually need loading and delivering during drop-off hours, and whatever they decline is still yours to handle.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off sized for a full remodel is a lot of steel for a spare bedroom's worth of stuff. You coordinate drop-off and pickup dates, check HOA and permit requirements, and watch it occupy the driveway while neighbors toss in extras.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Local Disposal Rules

The Ocean Pines disposal rules most residents don't know

Trash set out in personal cans or loose bags will not be collected in Ocean Pines, so here is how disposal actually works across Ocean Pines and Worcester County.

Rule 01

Renovation debris and dump trailers skip convenience centers

Drywall, decking, shingles, and carpeting from a remodel must go to the Central Landfill in Newark, where construction and demolition tipping fees apply. Homeowner convenience centers do not accept construction refuse, and dump trucks and dump trailers are not allowed there.

Rule 02

Fall leaves need paper bags for Ocean Pines pickup

Ocean Pines Public Works collects bagged leaves at the curb from late November through December with no bag limit. Only leaves are collected, and they must be in paper bags, not plastic. Outside that window, Republic Services takes up to four bags of leaves per regular trash day.

Rule 03

Boat wrap and vinyl siding stay out of recycling

Many plastics common in coastal homes cannot be recycled in Worcester County, including boat wrap, vinyl siding, tarps, water hoses, Adirondack chairs, and plastic coolers. Only containers marked #1 through #7 are accepted, so shrink wrap from a boat goes in the trash.

Rule 04

Only computers, laptops, and servers recycle free

Worcester County residents can drop off computers, laptops, and servers for free at the convenience stations or the Central Landfill. Other electronics count as regular trash and are charged a per-ton tipping fee unless the resident has a homeowner permit.

Rule 05

Furniture never goes in the Republic trash cart

Under the Ocean Pines trash contract, household trash does not include furniture, mechanical equipment, or machinery. Bulk pickup must be scheduled ahead with Republic Services. It runs on the first Wednesday of the month on the north gate side and the second Wednesday on the south side.

Rule 06

Refrigerators and water heaters go only to Newark

Worcester County convenience centers accept only household trash and recyclables. Stoves, refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, and other white goods must go to the Central Landfill in Newark. A current homeowner permit covers these items there, and residents without one pay tipping fees.

Only through the trash hauler. Ocean Pines trash service runs through Republic Services, with North Ocean Pines collected Monday and Thursday and South Tuesday and Friday. Bulk pickup is arranged by calling 410-749-1551, so confirm what they accept first.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Ocean Pines starts at $85, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.

Often, depending on the schedule. Same-day and next-day slots open up in many areas, and entering your Ocean Pines address during booking shows live availability. For curbside pickups you don't need to be home, and for in-home pickups you can leave access instructions.

Partly. Worcester County has no county-run curbside collection, and the Central Landfill takes bulk and construction debris for a tipping fee. Residents have also had a free annual spring cleanup, so check the county's current schedule. Hauling it yourself costs the least if you have a truck.

Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance by local charities and facilities. Items that can't be reused or recycled go to the appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition, so none of it is guaranteed.

You choose your items and address online, see the price, and pick a time window. A Loader typically calls before arriving, then carries the items out from inside your home or from the curb and loads them. The total is locked in before the pickup.

The pricing model and the booking flow. Traditional haulers like 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King usually price by truckload and may confirm the final cost on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before the Loader arrives. For a full-house cleanout, a truckload quote may suit you better.

Yes, you can book remotely without being there. Many Ocean Pines homeowners are seasonal, so you can schedule a pickup for items left at the curb or driveway, or give access notes for items inside. Confirm any community or HOA rules about when items can be put outside.
