The Problem

Getting rid of junk in Marion takes more than it should

You look up the town's rules, call around for quotes, and wait on haulers who never call back. A few weekends go by, and the junk is still sitting in the garage, right where you left it.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Small towns like Marion often run disposal through a transfer station, permits, or set schedules instead of a true city bulk pickup program. That can mean stickers, fees, or loading your own vehicle, and it does little for heavy items you can't lift alone.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to come out for an in-person estimate before they quote anything. Then pricing is based on how much of the truck you fill, so you won't know what you're really paying until the items are already loaded.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers have to be careful about what they accept, so stained, worn, or broken pieces usually get turned away. Even when something qualifies, you still have to get it there, and anything they decline comes back home with you.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A dumpster makes sense for a gut renovation, not for clearing out one room. You have to plan delivery and pickup, possibly check permit rules, find space in a tight driveway, and do all the lifting and tossing yourself while neighbors look at it for days.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Marion runs on a seasonal rhythm, and the old dock sections, wicker chairs, and basement furniture always seem to pile up at the turn of each one. Narrow lanes and long driveways make dump runs a chore. Your Loaders lift, carry, and load it all, and they genuinely enjoy showing up for this town's neighbors.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items rarely belong in one single place after they leave your home, which is why sorting by condition matters for junk removal in Marion. Your Loader helps keep reusable and recyclable items out of the trash when possible.

Local Disposal Rules

The Marion disposal rules most residents don't know

Ignoring staff instructions at the Marion Transfer Station can cost a household its disposal privileges, so here is what applies in Marion, Plymouth County.

Rule 01

Large furniture goes curbside by appointment, not to the station

Couches, chairs and other large furniture are not accepted at the Marion Transfer Station. Instead, upholstered or wooden furniture, tables, chairs and large appliances that won't fit in the cart can be scheduled for curbside collection for a per-item fee.

Rule 02

Cooling appliances need a prepaid fee before drop-off

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, ice makers, water coolers and dehumidifiers are accepted at the Marion Transfer Station only with an extra disposal fee, purchased at the DPW Administrative Office. Plan ahead, since the station itself runs just Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Rule 03

Storm-downed branches go to special DPW drop-off days

After the Blizzard of 2026, Marion's DPW took fallen brush, limbs and branches only on four set Saturdays, with no curbside pickup and a valid sticker required. Starting July 11, 2026, residential brush is also accepted every second Saturday monthly.

Rule 04

Remodel leftovers mostly can't go to the transfer station

Construction debris, lumber, insulation, pressure treated wood and fiberglass shower stalls are all on the Marion Transfer Station's not-accepted list. Carpet is the exception, accepted only when cut into pieces no longer than 3 feet.

Rule 05

Mattresses and box springs are shut out of town disposal

The Marion Transfer Station does not accept mattresses or box springs, and the town's curbside bulk item collection excludes them too. Massachusetts has banned mattresses from disposal since November 2022, so they must go to a mattress recycler instead.

Rule 06

Waste oil and fuels get a new town drop-off

Starting July 2026, Marion's DPW Waste Oil Recycling Center accepts residential waste oil, crankcase oil, ATF and hydraulic fluid, which must arrive in a secure container. Questionable or contaminated fuels are refused, and lawnmowers go to the transfer station only with no gas or oil.

Yes, but your vehicle needs a Marion sticker from the Building Department at the Town House. It costs $50 per vehicle, or $40 for seniors and veterans. Large furniture, mattresses, and construction debris are listed as not accepted.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Marion starts at $105, and curbside or outdoor pickup takes $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee and each additional item is a flat add-on, with the exact total confirmed before booking. The transfer station sticker is $50 per vehicle, plus your own hauling.

Often, depending on Loader availability for your zip code. Enter your address during booking to see live same-day and next-day openings. For curbside pickups you don't need to be home, and for in-home jobs someone should be there or leave access instructions.

The town's policy lists mattresses, box springs, large furniture, demolition and construction debris, tires, propane tanks, and pressure treated wood as not accepted. TVs and monitors cost $49 each, and refrigerators and air conditioners cost $39 each. A hauler can handle the items the dump refuses.

Loaders aim to donate usable items to local charities and recycle materials whenever options allow, depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to a proper disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition, and nothing is guaranteed to be donated or recycled.

You pick your items and enter your Marion address online, then choose a time window. The total is confirmed before you book. Your Loader typically gives notice before arriving, then removes the items from inside or outside your home, so there's no in-person estimate.

The pricing model differs. Traditional haulers usually price by truckload, often after an on-site estimate. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a big cleanout that fills a truck, a truckload hauler can be a better fit than per-item pricing.
