When junk keeps piling up, it turns into one more thing on your list. In the Ligonier Valley, LoadUp makes it simple to book a pickup and see your price upfront.
You search online, call the borough office, leave messages with a couple of haulers, and maybe hear back from one. Meanwhile, weeks go by and the junk is still sitting in the basement or garage.
Bulk pickup around here usually goes through a private trash hauler or a township contract, not the borough itself. Item limits, scheduling windows, and dragging heavy pieces to the curb yourself can make it a poor fit for a full cleanout or a tight deadline.
Many haulers want to come look before giving a number, and then they quote by fractions of a truckload you have no way to check. The figure can shift once the crew arrives, which leaves you unsure what you're paying until the job is over.
Donation drop-offs often turn away anything stained, worn, or broken, and most won't take certain mattresses, older electronics, or appliances. Even when something qualifies, you still have to load it, drive it there, and figure out what to do with whatever gets refused.
A dumpster can sit in your driveway for days, may need a permit if it goes on the street, and takes up space on narrow borough lots. For a single room or a handful of bulky pieces, you'd pay for far more capacity than you need.

Century-old stairs, winding back roads, and a Laurel Highlands winter that never checks your schedule make moving big items a project nobody volunteers for. Your Loaders handle the lifting and loading, so you can skip the borrowed truck. LoadUp and your Loaders genuinely like showing up for the neighbors in this close-knit town.
Bulky items rarely fit in a household bin, so what happens after pickup matters in Ligonier. Your Loader can sort items by condition, aiming for donation or recycling when local options allow, and responsible disposal otherwise.
Furniture and household goods that are clean and in good shape may be set aside for donation where available. Your Loader can separate these items during loading, though acceptance depends on local options and is never guaranteed.
Items that are worn or damaged but not suited for donation may be recycled when possible, such as metal pieces or electronics. Options can be limited in a rural valley, so outcomes vary by item.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or contaminated bulky items that cannot be donated or recycled are taken for responsible disposal. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading from Ligonier-area homes, garages, and outbuildings.
Putting a television in the trash or burning a leaf pile can bring a violation, so here is how disposal actually works in Ligonier and across Westmoreland County.
Ligonier Borough code bars anyone from removing, hauling or conveying refuse over borough streets or alleys and disposing of it without a license from the Mayor. All refuse generated in the borough must be disposed of outside its limits.
Westmoreland Cleanways lists TVs of all types, computer monitors, CPUs/towers, laptops, tablets and printers as electronics that by law must be recycled. Keeping old tube sets whole matters, since disassembled or smashed CRT TVs and monitors carry an unsafe handling fee.
Fridge and pantry cleanouts fall under a specific Ligonier Borough rule: all garbage must have free liquids drained off and be wrapped in paper bags or similar material before it is placed in garbage cans for collection.
Ligonier Borough ordinance makes it a violation to burn leaves or yard waste or mix them with household garbage. Borough Council declares leaf collection dates when climate conditions make it appropriate, advertising them in the Ligonier Echo at least one week ahead.
When winter decorations come down, non-working Christmas light strings do not have to go in the trash. Westmoreland Cleanways accepts them free of charge, along with electrical cords, microwaves and other electronics not required by law to be recycled.
Basement cleanouts often turn up old dehumidifiers. Westmoreland Cleanways accepts Freon or refrigerant-containing appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, A/C units and dehumidifiers, for a per-unit fee rather than free of charge like most electronics.

Hazardous items such as paint, chemicals, batteries, and many electronics usually can't go in standard household trash or bulk pickup in Pennsylvania. Check with your hauler or Westmoreland County for drop-off options. Loaders can handle many bulky items, but not hazardous materials.
Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance at local charities and facilities. Items that can't be reused or recycled go to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition and what nearby partners will take.
Book online, choose your item and pickup spot, and get your total before you confirm. You pick a time window, and your Loader notifies you before arriving. The Loader removes the items, so you don't need to carry anything out yourself.
Not for curbside or driveway pickups. Leave the items out with any access notes. For items inside your home, someone should be there or you can give access instructions at booking, which helps for homes and shops near the Diamond.
The main differences are pricing model and booking flow. Traditional haulers often price by truckload and may confirm cost on site. LoadUp prices per item online, with the total confirmed before the Loader arrives. For larger cleanouts, a truckload hauler may fit better.
