The Problem

Lots of ways to ditch junk, none that fit

You read up on the city's rules, call a couple of haulers, and wait on quotes that never come back. Another weekend passes, and the pile in the garage is still sitting right where it was.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

City bulk pickup programs work well for a single couch at the curb. But you request a slot and wait for the municipal pickup schedule, items have to be hauled out front yourself, and renovation debris or bigger cleanouts often fall outside what the program will take.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to send someone out for an estimate first, then quote by the fraction of a truck your junk fills. You don't know the real number until the crew is in your driveway eyeballing the pile, and by then the price can shift.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers need items they can actually resell, so stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and broken appliances get turned away. Even good pieces need hauling there on your own, and anything they decline ends up riding back home with you.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off sounds simple until you're sorting out permits, delivery and pickup windows, and a big steel bin taking up space on a narrow, tree-lined street for days. For one room of junk, it's more container, and more hassle, than you need.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Lakeview, from the 17th Street Canal to City Park

Anyone who has dragged a sofa to the curb in August humidity knows the afternoon downpour is watching, ready to soak it. Around here, that is a real scheduling problem. Your Loaders do the lifting, carrying, and loading while you stay in the air conditioning. Showing up for Lakeview neighbors is what they like best.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items rarely leave a Lakeview house easily, and where they end up matters as much as how they leave. Your Loader sorts each piece by condition, so donation, recycling, or disposal fits what it is.

Gently Used

Donation Pickup

Furniture, appliances, and sporting goods in good, clean condition may be donated when local options allow. Your Loader sets those pieces aside from the rest of the load so they have the best chance of reuse.

  • Tax-deductible receipt by request
  • Diverts waste from landfill
  • Free up your space and help a neighbor

Visible Wear

Items that are worn or damaged but not fit for donation, like metal frames or old appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them from the general load when possible.

  • Materials sorted and recovered
  • Diverted from landfill where possible

Local Disposal Rules

The Lakeview disposal rules most residents don't know

A curbside pile set out too early or in the wrong place can draw a city fine, so here are the disposal rules for Lakeview and Orleans Parish.

Rule 01

Paint and pool chemicals never belong in curbside carts

Household hazardous items should never go in garbage or recycling carts. The city holds an annual collection day for Orleans Parish residents only, but it does not accept asbestos, fire extinguishers, tanks, ammunition or medicines. Usable collected paint is later offered back to residents.

Rule 02

Storm debris can't be left on neutral grounds or lots

In New Orleans, dumping debris on neutral grounds or in vacant or blighted lots is illegal and is enforced. This matters most after storms during hurricane season. Gentilly Landfill accepts construction and demolition debris as well as vegetative and woody debris.

Rule 03

Couches and mattresses need a 311 pickup request first

Sofas, mattresses, furniture and white goods are picked up only after a 311 request. Carpet must also be rolled, tied and cut into lengths under 4 feet. Placing these items at the curb more than 24 hours before collection brings a fine. Businesses and buildings with more than four units are not eligible.

Rule 04

Renovation debris can never sit on the street or sidewalk

Under the New Orleans building code amendments, the permit applicant, contractor and property owner all share responsibility for construction debris. Anything not removed daily must be stored in a refuse container, and dumpsters on the public right-of-way must show the owner's identifying information.

Rule 05

Old televisions go to the Saturday recycling drop-off

The city's weekly Saturday Recycling Drop-Off Event accepts e-waste such as televisions (limit four), computers, laptops, cell phones, keyboards, speakers and gaming consoles. None of these electronics are on the city's 311 bulky waste list, so they need a separate route.

Rule 06

Tree limbs must be bundled under four feet for pickup

Weekly curbside yard waste must be fewer than six bags of clippings and fewer than six bundles of limbs. Each bag or bundle can weigh up to 50 pounds, and bundles must be under 4 feet long and 12 inches across. If you have more branches than that, request a bulky waste pickup through 311.

Not as a catch-all. New Orleans sanitation collects household trash and bulk waste only under city rules, and items put out outside those rules can be treated as illegal dumping. Check your collection day with the city's sanitation contractor before setting anything out.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Lakeview starts at $80 for a single item, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge. The exact total is confirmed before booking.

Same-day pickup is sometimes available, depending on Loader schedules in your area. Enter your address during booking to see which time slots are open. For curbside pickups you usually don't need to be home. For in-home pickups, someone should be present or leave access instructions.

Household hazardous waste like paint, chemicals and pesticides can't go in curbside trash. In Orleans Parish, items like batteries, bulbs and e-waste are taken at the city's 2nd and 4th Saturday recycling drop-offs. Other hazardous items need a parish hazardous waste collection site.

Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill. They try to donate furniture and household goods to local charities when the charities will accept them. Recyclable materials go to recyclers whenever possible. Whatever can't be donated or recycled is taken to an appropriate disposal facility.

You enter your address, pick the items and choose a time window online, then see your total before you confirm. On pickup day your Loader arrives, loads the items and takes them away. You don't need to haggle over a truckload estimate.

The main difference is how pricing works. Traditional haulers typically price by truckload and may confirm the cost on site. LoadUp prices per item online, with the total locked in before booking. For a big whole-house cleanout, a truckload hauler can be the better fit.
