Junk has a way of piling up faster than anyone plans for. LoadUp makes clearing it out simple in the DeKalb County seat, with upfront pricing you see before you book.
You look up the city's rules, leave a voicemail with the county, call a couple of haulers, and wait on callbacks that never come. Weeks slide by, and the pile in the carport hasn't moved an inch.
Free city bulk pickup programs can help, but they usually come with a schedule to request, size or item limits, and a rule that everything sits at the road. If your junk is in a basement, a barn, or out past the city line, it may not qualify.
Plenty of haulers want to drive out, eyeball the pile, and quote you by the truckload on the spot. You may not know the final number until the bed is full, and in a rural area, a callback is never a sure thing.
Donation shops have to be choosy about what they can actually resell. Stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and broken appliances often get turned away, and you're still the one hauling it there and back with whatever they refused.
A roll-off makes sense for a full gut job, not a spare bedroom. You'd book a drop-off window, find a flat spot on your lot or driveway, maybe check on permits, then still carry everything out yourself while it takes up space for days.

Not everybody in DeKalb County owns a truck, and a borrowed trailer full of busted furniture on a winding two-lane road can swallow a whole Saturday. Old sofas in the shed and brush piles on a back lot are easier to hand off. Your Loaders lift, load, and sweep up, and they like showing up for Smithville.
Bulky items pile up fast in a rural county seat like Smithville, and where they end up matters. Your Loader sorts each load by condition, so usable pieces can be donated and the rest handled responsibly.
Furniture and household goods that are clean and in good shape may be set aside for donation when local options allow. Availability varies in a small county, and no donation paperwork is provided.
Items that are worn or damaged but still have usable materials, like metal frames or appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them when possible, though nearby recycling options are limited.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken-down bulky items, such as ruined couches or rotted lumber, are taken for proper disposal. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading, so you skip the dump run.
Get these wrong and a brush pile sits uncollected or a load gets turned away at the gate. These rules apply in Smithville and DeKalb County.
A Smithville ordinance on infectious waste in garbage collection containers makes improperly discarding needles and sharps unlawful and sets a penalty. The city adopted it because state medical waste rules cover pharmacies, hospitals and clinics, not residential garbage.
Only the Transfer Station, Snow Hill, Alexandria and McMinnville Highway sites take furniture, and only in small amounts like dressers or mattresses. Full trailer loads are not accepted at the convenience sites and must go to the Transfer Station.
City residents get two free brush and limb pickups a year, only if they cut it themselves, and limbs over six inches stay behind. Commercial tree cutting debris is not collected. DeKalb County takes trimmings and limbs only at the Transfer Station.
Whole, unshredded tires cannot be landfilled in Tennessee. DeKalb County accepts no more than four tires per individual every six months, with a record kept of each. Larger quantities go to the Felts Road Landfill for a size-based fee.
The 13 county sites accept bagged household garbage and small amounts of other items from DeKalb County residents or property owners with proof of ownership. Nothing may be left on the ground inside the site or outside the gate.
DeKalb County takes appliances in the scrap metal containers at Alexandria, Snow Hill, McMinnville Highway, Blue Springs, Liberty, Midway, Village Market and the Transfer Station. The other county sites are not listed for appliances, so pick the location before loading up.

Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle materials whenever possible, depending on what local charities and recyclers accept. Items that can't be donated or recycled are taken to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by job and item condition.
You choose your items online, get a confirmed price, and pick a time window. For curbside or driveway pickups you don't need to be home. For items inside, someone should be present or you can leave access instructions when booking.
It can be for big cleanouts. The DeKalb County Transfer Station rents 30 cubic yard open top containers for cleanup and construction projects, kept up to two weeks. For a few items, per-item pickup is usually simpler, with no loading on your end.
The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers often price by truckload and may confirm the cost after an estimate. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms your total before booking, so you know the cost before anyone arrives.
