When junk piles up, getting rid of it becomes one more chore nobody wants. Book LoadUp, see your price upfront, and let a quick pickup clear it out of your Thurston place.
You look up the county's rules, call a hauler who promises a callback that never comes, and get a quote from another that doesn't add up. Weeks go by, and the junk is still in the barn.
Where a town or county offers city bulk pickup programs, they usually come with limits. Appliances with refrigerant, tires, and electronics are often turned away, and dates may be weeks out. Everything also has to reach the road, which is a long haul from the back of a big lot.
Plenty of haulers want to drive out and look before they'll give you a number. Then the price is based on how much of their truck you fill, and you might not know the final total until the job's done.
Thrift stores and charities have good reasons to be choosy. They often pass on stained mattresses, scratched furniture, and appliances that don't work. Even good items still need a truck and two strong people to get there, and some places may be a long drive away.
A roll-off feels like a fix until it sits on your lawn for a week. You have to book delivery and pickup, maybe check local permit rules, and still lift everything over a high wall yourself. That's a lot for one cluttered room or shed.

Your Loaders take on narrow cellar stairs and steep hayloft ladders, then carry each piece out with care. Every Loader is background-checked and rated by real locals in Thurston after each job.
If you can get items to the foot of your driveway on your own, curbside keeps things simple. When an old freezer is at the back of a pole barn or a dresser is stuck in an upstairs bedroom far from where a truck can park, full-service has your Loaders bring it out for you.

Let's be honest, a dump run from a hilltop driveway is a whole-day project, especially when the old freezer won't fit the truck bed and the gravel road has opinions. Your Loaders handle the lifting from barn, garage, or porch, and they like showing up for the neighbors who keep these hills looking the way they do.
Big, bulky items pile up fast on a long driveway or in an old outbuilding, and where they end up matters. In Thurston, your Loader sorts each load by condition, favoring reuse and recycling when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods in good, clean shape may be set aside for donation where available. Nearby options can be limited, so this isn't guaranteed, and no receipt or tax documentation is promised.
Items that are worn or damaged but not fit for reuse, like scrap metal, old appliances, or broken fixtures, may be taken to recycling when possible. Acceptance depends on the item and local options.
Heavily damaged, soaked, or contaminated bulky pieces, such as rotted furniture or sagging mattresses, are taken for responsible disposal at an approved site. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading from your property.
Trashing a television breaks a state landfill ban, and choosing the wrong facility can mean a wasted trip. These rules apply to Thurston residents using Steuben County's system.
Under the NYS Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act, electronics have been barred from landfill disposal since January 1, 2015. Steuben County accepts them free at all of its solid waste facilities, limited to five pieces per vehicle unless arranged in advance.
Steuben County accepts agricultural plastic at the Bath Landfill free of charge. The same material is also taken at the county transfer stations, but there it is charged at normal garbage pricing, so Thurston farm households save by bringing it to Bath.
Friable asbestos is accepted only at the Bath Landfill and requires prior approval before disposal. Non-friable asbestos is handled as construction and demolition debris and can go to the Bath Landfill or any county transfer station at normal C&D pricing.
Freon-containing appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and water coolers must be handled separately so the gas can be collected and recycled. Stoves, ovens, microwaves, and dishwashers are treated as scrap metal and accepted free at county facilities.
Residents may use any Steuben County solid waste facility, but commercial loads and loads larger than a pickup truck must go directly to the Bath Landfill. The landfill also opens Mondays, when the Erwin, Hornell, and Wayland transfer stations are closed.
Steuben County solid waste facilities do not accept batteries for recycling. Instead, New York State law requires retailers that sell rechargeable batteries, including NiCd, NiMH, and lithium ion types, to take spent ones back for recycling free of charge.

(678) 884-4738Not that I could confirm. Thurston is a rural town and I found no town-run curbside bulk pickup. Most residents hire a private hauler or take loads to a Steuben County transfer station. Dumping on roadsides or private land is illegal in New York.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Thurston starts at $90 for a single item, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee and each additional item is a flat add-on, with the exact total confirmed before booking.
Sometimes. Thurston is rural, so same-day slots depend on Loader availability near Corning and Bath. Enter your address at booking to see live openings. Next-day or scheduled windows are more dependable. You usually don't need to be home for curbside pickups.
Paint, solvents, pesticides and similar household hazardous waste shouldn't go in regular trash or a hauler's truck. Steuben County has held free household hazardous waste collection events for residents, usually twice a year in spring and summer.
Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them to local charities when options allow. Recyclable materials go to recyclers depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to a proper disposal facility.
Pick your items online, choose a time window, and see your price before you confirm. On pickup day your Loader typically calls or texts ahead of arrival, then carries the items out and loads them. Curbside items can be left out with access notes.
It can be, if you have a truck, time and a large load. Steuben County charges tip fees at its Bath landfill and transfer stations, and rates have risen recently. For one or two heavy items, paying for hauling often saves effort and gas.
Pricing model and booking flow. Traditional haulers often charge by truck volume and confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For large cleanouts, a truckload quote from a traditional hauler may fit better.
