Junk has a way of piling up until it's all you see. Book LoadUp for a quick pickup and an upfront quote, and get your Ilion space back without the hassle.
You look up the village rules, call the town office, and leave messages with a few haulers. One sends a quote, another never calls back. A month later, the junk is still sitting in the garage.
Municipal pickup schedules help when your items fit the rules and the timing works out. Many programs limit what goes to the curb, leave out some appliances and electronics, and expect you to carry everything out yourself, sometimes up narrow basement stairs.
Many haulers want to come look before giving you a number, and then charge by how much of the truck you fill. You often don't know the final cost until everything is loaded and leaving the driveway.
Thrift stores and charities have to be careful about what they take. Stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and anything broken usually gets turned away, and you are still the one loading it into the car and driving it over there.
A roll-off sounds simple until you're planning delivery and pickup dates, checking whether you need a permit, and giving up the driveway for a week. Then you're filling it yourself, all for one attic or a single spare room.

Ilion homes hold plenty of history, and so do the basements, attics, and garages that came with them. Nobody should need a borrowed pickup and three trips to the dump to clear them. Your Loaders carry it up the basement stairs and out the door, and they genuinely like showing up for this village.
Big, bulky items are hard to move alone, and where they end up matters just as much as getting them out. In Ilion, your Loaders sort each pickup by condition, keeping usable things in circulation when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods in good, clean condition may be donated when local options allow. Your Loaders can set those items aside, but do not expect any paperwork or receipt from the service.
Items that are worn or damaged but not donatable, like old appliances or metal pieces, may be recycled where available. Your Loaders separate what can be reused as materials from what cannot.
Heavily damaged or contaminated bulky items, such as soaked mattresses or broken furniture, go to responsible disposal. Your Loaders carry them out and haul them away, so you never need to rent a truck.
Setting out the wrong item, or the right one on the wrong week, can leave it stuck at your curb under the rules used in Ilion and Herkimer County.
Ilion does not allow brush and yard waste in village garbage bags or garbage totes. Where burning branches is permitted at all, New York bans residential brush burning statewide from March 16 through May 14, when snowmelt leaves dry, fire-prone debris behind.
Ilion's weekly bulk collection covers large household items like couches, mattresses, dressers, and rugs, which must be rolled and tied. Single-family homes may set out one item per week and multi-unit properties two, so a full cleanout can stretch across months.
Under the state's Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act, covered electronics such as televisions and computers cannot be thrown away with household garbage. Ilion collects electronics only twice a month, on a schedule separate from weekly trash and bulk pickup.
Ilion caps garbage bags at 50 pounds, a threshold that is easy to pass when clearing out books, dishes, or waterlogged belongings from a basement after the spring thaw. Splitting heavy loads across more bags keeps each one within the rule.
Ilion's bulk collection specifically excludes wood, lumber, construction debris, plaster, wall board, and plywood. Remodeling and demolition leftovers need a different route, typically through the regional system run by the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority, which serves the county.
Ilion picks up major appliances, along with steel and metal items, only twice a month rather than with weekly bulk collection. Checking that calendar before moving a heavy appliance to the curb avoids leaving it outside, exposed to snow and plows, for a week.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Ilion starts at $90, and curbside or outdoor pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge. The exact total is confirmed before booking.
It can be, depending on Loader availability for your address and the time you book. Enter your zip code during booking to see live same-day and next-day openings. Curbside pickups don't require you to be home if you leave access notes.
Construction debris, lumber, plywood, plaster and wallboard are excluded, and the village allows just one bulk item per property. For larger cleanouts, a private hauler or dumpster is the usual route. Paint, chemicals and propane tanks can go to the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority's hazardous waste program.
Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on what local charities and recyclers accept. Items that can't be donated or recycled are taken to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition, so none are guaranteed.
You pick your items and zip code online, choose a time window, and see your total before confirming. On pickup day, your Loader heads to the address, removes the junk, and hauls it away. Curbside jobs need no one home, while in-home jobs need access.
The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers often charge by truck volume and may confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a big full-truck cleanout, a truckload hauler may suit you better.
It can be, if you have a truck and the time. The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority takes items like furniture, scrap metal, tires and electronics at its EcoDrop sites, though they're in Utica and Rome, and fees apply for some items. A hauler saves the trip and the lifting.
