The Problem

Getting junk out of a Windsor home takes more than it should

You search online, call around to find out who handles what, and leave messages for a couple of haulers. One calls back eventually. Another never does. Meanwhile the pile in the garage stays put for another week.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Free town and county options can help, but they rarely work on your schedule. Pickup may take advance requests, accepted items are limited, and drop-off sites expect you to haul things yourself. They also only help with the junk you can actually get to the curb.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to come look before they'll give you a number, which means taking time off just to get a quote. Then the price depends on how much of the truck your load fills, and you may not know the real total until the job is done.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores and charities have to be choosy. Anything stained, broken, or worn out usually gets turned away, and some won't take large pieces at all. So you're still stuck with whatever didn't make the cut, and the trip there is on you.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A rented container takes up your driveway or yard for days, needs a delivery and pickup window, and you still have to do all the lifting. For a single room or a weekend cleanout, that's a lot of hassle and a lot of empty space you're paying for.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items pile up fast in a county-seat town like Windsor, and where they end up matters as much as getting them out. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, favoring reuse when possible.

Local Disposal Rules

The Windsor disposal rules most residents don't know

Leaving junk beside a county container or bringing an oversized load can violate Bertie County's solid waste ordinance. These rules apply to Windsor residents and Bertie County sites.

Rule 01

Scrap tires follow a designated county disposal path

The county ordinance sends tires to designated scrap tire disposal sites, and Bertie County's program is set up for in-county scrap tires. Convenience centers list tires as an accepted item, and North Carolina prohibits whole tires in landfills.

Rule 02

Electronics go only to the Windsor and Lewiston sites

Bertie County takes electronics at only two of its convenience centers, the Windsor and Lewiston sites. Container space there is limited, so the county asks residents with heavy loads of electronics to take them to the landfill site near Aulander instead.

Rule 03

Daily loads over five cubic yards face restrictions

Bertie County bars commercial, industrial, institutional, and trailer park sources that produce more than five cubic yards of waste in one day from using convenience center receptacles. The receptacles are also for Bertie County residents only.

Rule 04

White goods are accepted but kept out of landfills

White goods are on the accepted items list at Bertie County convenience centers. North Carolina bans white goods from landfills and requires chlorofluorocarbon refrigerants to be removed from appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners before processing.

Rule 05

Nothing can be left outside a county container

Bertie County's ordinance requires all solid waste to go inside the receptacle, and nothing may be left at the site outside it. Furniture that will not fit should wait for another trip. Center hours also change when daylight saving time starts or ends.

Rule 06

Renovation debris belongs at sites approved for construction waste

Under the county solid waste ordinance, construction and demolition wastes go to sites designed for that purpose and approved by North Carolina's solid waste regulators. Keeping remodel debris separate from household trash makes it easier to get it to the right facility.

Not unless it is part of a regular collection the town or county provides. Bulky items left out without arrangement can be treated as illegal dumping in North Carolina. Call Windsor town hall or Bertie County solid waste to confirm what is accepted.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Windsor starts at $75 for a single item, and pickup from the curb or driveway takes $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge. The exact total is confirmed before booking.

Sometimes. Availability in a small town like Windsor depends on Loader schedules and your address. Enter your zip code during booking to see the open time slots, including same-day or next-day if offered.

Hazardous materials such as paint, chemicals, and fuel generally cannot go in household trash or with most haulers. Large items like furniture and appliances usually need a county drop-off site or a hauler. Check with Bertie County solid waste for current rules.

Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance at nearby facilities. Items that cannot be donated or recycled go to an appropriate disposal site. Outcomes vary by item condition and what local partners will take.

Not for curbside or driveway pickups. You can leave items out with access notes. For items inside your home, someone should be present, or you can give access instructions when booking. You will get an arrival update before your Loader comes.

You book online, choose your items and a time window, and see your total before confirming. On pickup day, Loaders arrive, load the items, and haul them away. You do not need to sort or carry anything yourself.

The main difference is pricing and booking. Traditional haulers often price by truckload and may confirm the cost on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a truckload cleanout, a traditional hauler may fit better.
