Junk has a way of piling up until it's all you notice. Book LoadUp in Kirkwood, see your upfront price before you commit, and get a quick pickup that clears it out.
You search for options, call the city with questions, request a few hauler quotes, and wait. One never calls back, another needs to see it first. Weeks pass, and the junk still sits right where it was.
City bulk pickup programs work well for what they cover, but they come with item limits, scheduling windows, and requests to file ahead. Some things are excluded, and you still have to drag everything to the curb yourself. That's a problem when you're clearing a basement on a deadline.
Many haulers want to come out and see the job before they'll give you a number, then quote by how much of the truck you fill. That fraction gets judged in your driveway, so the final price can be a surprise at the end instead of something you know before booking.
Donation centers have to be choosy. A torn couch, a dated entertainment center, or a stained mattress usually gets turned away, and most won't pick up large pieces. You end up loading your car, driving across town, and hauling half of it back home.
A roll-off container makes sense for a full gut renovation, not a garage purge. You may need to check on placement rules, plan around delivery and pickup windows, and live with a steel box taking up your driveway for days while the neighbors look at it.

If everything is already out on the driveway or beside a detached garage, curbside is the quicker fit. When pieces are still in an attic, an upstairs bedroom, or a crowded back room of an older Kirkwood house, full-service means your Loaders carry it all out for you.

Wrestling an old dresser down a narrow staircase is bad enough, and then comes the borrowed pickup, the Kirkwood Road traffic, and a Saturday gone. Your Loaders handle the lifting, carrying, and loading instead. They like showing up for Kirkwood neighbors, and they would rather you spend your weekend on something better.
Bulky items pile up fast in older Kirkwood homes, and where they go next matters as much as getting them out. Your Loader sorts by condition, so reuse and recycling happen when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods that are clean and in good shape may be set aside for donation when possible. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading, and availability depends on what local organizations are accepting.
Items that are worn or damaged but still have usable materials, like metal frames or some electronics, may be recycled where available. Your Loader keeps them separate from general debris when local options allow.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken bulky items, like a collapsed sofa or waterlogged mattress, go to responsible disposal. Your Loader carries them out of Kirkwood garages and basements, and handling depends on what local facilities accept.
Missing a bulky item registration deadline can push your cleanout to next season's free collection, so here is what applies to Kirkwood homes in St. Louis County.
Missouri law keeps lead-acid batteries out of landfills, so car, boat, and riding mower batteries do not belong in a Kirkwood trash cart. Retailers selling these batteries must accept used ones from customers buying new, which offers an easy exit.
Kirkwood offers free curbside Christmas tree pickup every January. It is worth catching, since regular weekly yard waste service is built for leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, and small branches, not a full-size evergreen.
Every Kirkwood household gets two free bulky item collections, one in spring and one in fall, registered through the city's Waste Wizard at least a week ahead. Missed it? A special pickup costs $25 per item or per 2 cubic yards on your utility bill.
Kirkwood's special pickup will not take concrete, bricks, or nails, and the free spring and fall bulky collection excludes construction debris entirely. Patio tear-outs and remodeling scraps need a separate disposal route rather than a spot on the curb.
Kirkwood collects leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, and small branches weekly, but only in kraft paper yard waste bags carrying a yard waste sticker bought at City Hall. Missouri bans yard waste from landfills, so storm limbs cannot simply join the trash.
Kirkwood's special pickup service lists items with Freon among the things it does not collect. Missouri also bans major appliances from landfills, and federal rules require refrigerant recovery before a refrigerator, freezer, or air conditioner is scrapped.

(678) 884-4738Yes, twice a year. Kirkwood households get a free spring and fall bulky item collection, limited to 4 large items like furniture. You must register at least a week before your route's pickup. Electronics, hazardous waste, yard waste, and construction debris are not accepted.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Kirkwood starts at $75 for a single item, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.
Often, yes. Same-day or next-day slots may be open depending on your zip code and the schedule, and booking online shows live availability for your address. The city's free bulky pickup only runs in spring and fall, so a private pickup is the faster route between those windows.
Kirkwood's collection leaves out concrete, bricks, yard waste, hazardous materials, nails, construction debris, electronics, and anything containing Freon. Hazardous materials go through St. Louis County's disposal program. A private hauler can often take items the city won't, depending on the item.
Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance by local partners. Items that can't be donated or recycled are taken to an appropriate disposal facility. Donation and recycling outcomes are never guaranteed for every item.
You book online, choose your items and a time window, and see your total before confirming. On pickup day your Loader arrives, removes the items, and handles the loading. For curbside pickups you don't need to be home, and for in-home pickups you can leave access instructions.
The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers often price by truckload and may confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms your total before booking, which can suit smaller jobs. For a full-house cleanout, a truckload hauler may fit better.
