Junk has a way of piling up until it's one more thing on the to-do list. See your quote before you book, pick a time, and let LoadUp clear it off your Bergen property.
You look up the county options, call a couple of haulers, and wait for callbacks that come slowly or never come. Meanwhile, the pile in the machine shed stays put while spring turns into fall.
Township addresses often fall outside city bulk pickup programs. Where municipal pickup schedules do exist, they tend to come with item limits, set dates, and exclusions for appliances or electronics. On top of that, you still have to drag everything to the end of a long gravel driveway yourself.
Many haulers want to drive out for an in-person estimate before they'll name a price, and that can take days to schedule. Then the quote is based on a vague share of a truckload, so you won't know your actual cost until the work is done.
Thrift stores and charities have to be choosy about condition. Stained mattresses, worn recliners, and anything that sat for years in a damp outbuilding usually get turned away. That leaves you with half a load still waiting and another trip into town you didn't plan on.
A roll-off means booking drop-off and pickup dates, finding level ground that won't rut your yard, and doing every bit of the lifting yourself. For a spare room or one corner of the garage, you'd be paying for space and days you'll never use.

Out here, getting rid of one old sofa can mean borrowing a truck, strapping it down, and burning half a Saturday on county roads. Your Loaders would rather do that part. They walk up the long driveway, carry it out of the shed or barn, and haul it off, glad to help Bergen neighbors.
Out past the pavement, an old couch or a busted freezer is hard to get rid of, so where it ends up matters. In Bergen, your Loaders sort items by condition, sending them toward donation, recycling, or disposal.
Furniture, tools, and household goods in clean, usable shape may be donated when local options allow. Your Loaders carry them out of the garage or basement and set them aside for that route.
Items that are worn or damaged but not donatable, like scrap metal or old appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loaders separate them from the rest of the load when possible.
Heavily damaged or contaminated bulky items, such as soaked mattresses or rotted furniture from a shed, go to proper disposal. Your Loaders haul them off so you don't have to make the trip.
Putting banned items in the trash or a burn pile can bring a violation notice under Minnesota law, so here's what applies to cleanouts in Bergen and across McLeod County.
Minnesota bans yard waste from household trash. If you plan to burn branches instead, the DNR requires a burning permit whenever the ground isn't snow covered, and spring burning restrictions often follow snowmelt, when dead grass dries out and fire spreads fast.
Minnesota bans major appliances from mixed municipal solid waste, including furnaces, water heaters, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, freezers, washers, and dryers. They must be processed to remove refrigerants, mercury switches, and PCB capacitors first, which is why appliance recyclers often charge a fee.
Minnesota law prohibits throwing fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent bulbs, and other mercury-containing lamps in the trash. Garage and barn shop lights are a common source, and they belong at a household hazardous waste collection or a lamp recycler instead.
Minnesota prohibits burning household garbage, plastics, rubber, painted or treated lumber, shingles, and other building materials. Burn barrels were once common in rural townships like Bergen, but the smoke releases toxic compounds, so these items need a permitted disposal facility.
State law prohibits putting electronics that contain a cathode ray tube in household garbage because the glass contains lead. Older tube televisions and computer monitors often sit in basements for years, and they need to go to an electronics recycler instead.
Minnesota has banned waste tires from mixed municipal solid waste since the 1980s. Old snow tires and spare vehicle tires stacked in sheds or along fence lines need to go to a tire collector or processor for recycling rather than the garbage.

(678) 884-4738Generally no. Bergen is a rural township, so most homes use a private hauler or drop items off themselves, and there is no standard free bulk pickup to count on. Leaving junk on roadsides or in ditches counts as illegal dumping in Minnesota and can bring fines.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Bergen starts at $95 for a single item, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.
It depends on Loader availability for rural McLeod County, so same-day is not guaranteed. Enter your address during booking to see live openings. Outdoor pickups don't need you home, and for indoor pickups someone should be there or leave access instructions.
Hazardous materials such as paint, pesticides, fuel, solvents and batteries usually can't go with regular junk loads. Farm properties often have these. Check with McLeod County's solid waste office about household hazardous waste drop-off options and any limits.
Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill. They try to donate furniture and household goods to local charities and recycle metal and other materials whenever options allow. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to an appropriate disposal facility, depending on acceptance.
Pick your items and address online, choose a time window, and see your total before you confirm. On pickup day, your Loader usually calls before arriving, then removes the items and loads them. Rural driveways and long lanes are worth mentioning in your access notes.
Pricing model and booking flow. Traditional haulers often price by truckload and may confirm costs on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a full cleanout of many items, a truckload hauler can be the better fit.
