Junk piles up quietly, then one day it's in the way of everything. Walleye Town has a simpler option: book a pickup window with LoadUp and see your real price before you confirm.
You search, you call the township office, you leave messages with two haulers. One wants to come look first, one never calls back, and the pile sits through another weekend in the garage.
Out here, bulk pickup comes from whichever hauler you subscribe to, not a township program, so the allowance depends on your contract. Many cap it at an item or two, skip refrigerant appliances and remodel debris, and expect it already at the road.
The local outfits want to see it first, which means scheduling a visit before you get a number. Pricing runs by truckload, so a half-full load and a nearly full one can land in the same vague bracket. You find out on pickup day.
Resale shops take what they can sell, which rules out anything stained, torn, missing hardware, or older than their buyers want. You still load it, drive it over, and hope it passes inspection at the door. Whatever gets turned away rides home with you.
A roll-off sits in your driveway for days, leaves marks on the gravel or asphalt, and comes with a weight limit you can hit fast with plaster and shingles. You also do every bit of the lifting yourself, basement stairs included.

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

A chest freezer wedged at the bottom of unfinished basement stairs takes patience and technique. Your Loaders are background checked and rated by real locals in Freeland after each job.
If the treadmill is already sitting outside with room for a truck to pull up the driveway, curbside keeps things simple. Go full service when your Loaders need to walk a dryer out of the pole barn and across the yard themselves.

Around here the default plan is borrowing a buddy's truck, which costs you a favor and the Saturday you wanted free for the Walleye Festival. Half the pole barns in town are holding something nobody wants to lift twice. Your Loaders take that part off you, and they like pulling up for this town.
Not everything carried out of a Freeland garage belongs in the same place. A treadmill in working shape and a water-damaged dresser take different paths, so your Loaders sort by condition first and landfill last.
Furniture and household goods in clean, working condition may go to a donation outlet when one nearby is accepting that category. If you want a receipt, handle the drop-off yourself before booking.
Items too worn to resell often still have value as material. Metal from a dead washer or scrap from a deck teardown may reach a recycling or scrap outlet when local options allow.
Soaked mattresses, crumbling particle board, and similar bulky items head for a Saginaw County transfer station or landfill where available, which is usually the last stop rather than the first choice for a Freeland load.
Set out the wrong item and crews tag it and drive on, leaving it in your yard. Here is what Freeland and Saginaw County require.
Mid Michigan Waste Authority allows households two bulk items each week, placed at the curb by 7 am on your service day. Bulk pickups are never scheduled ahead, and anything past two waits for a later week.
State law has kept grass, leaves, and trimmings out of Michigan landfills since 1995 so they can be composted instead. That is why Tittabawassee Township runs a separate Wednesday yard waste route from April into early December.
Curbside yard waste covers grass, sod without dirt, and twigs under two inches, in paper bags or a 35 gallon can weighing under 50 pounds. Stumps and root balls are excluded, and yard waste stickers are free at the township office.
Michigan environmental regulators require refrigerant in refrigerators, freezers, window air conditioners, and dehumidifiers to be removed by an EPA certified technician, who marks the unit. Venting it is illegal, and county hazardous waste events will not take refrigerants or appliances.
Mid Michigan Waste Authority accepts televisions, monitors, computers, printers, and cords free from Saginaw County residents at drop off days held April through September, by appointment. Vacuums, toasters, and other non computer electronics are turned away.
Paint, solvents, lithium and lead acid batteries, fluorescent tubes, and fire extinguishers are taken from residents only, in containers no larger than five gallons, with no barrels. Tires, ammunition, gas cylinders, and medical waste are not accepted.

(678) 884-4738Freeland is served by the Mid Michigan Waste Authority, which allows up to two bulk items per week at the curb by 7:00 am on your Wednesday service day. MMWA does not schedule bulk pickup in advance, the driver tags the item and a bulk truck returns 1 to 2 business days later. Call (989) 781-9555 before setting anything out.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Freeland starts at $80, with $5 off when you leave items at the curb. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge, so your full total is confirmed upfront before you book.
Same-day and next-day slots open in many Freeland zip codes when you book early in the day. Enter your 48623 zip during online booking to see live availability. Unlike MMWA bulk collection, LoadUp runs on your schedule instead of a fixed Wednesday route.
MMWA bulk service skips hazardous materials like paint, chemicals, and Freon appliances, and refrigerators need the refrigerant removed first. Saginaw County residents can drop these at free MMWA household hazardous waste days, held April through September by appointment at 2063 S Miller Rd in Saginaw.
Loaders sort loads and aim to keep usable items out of the landfill whenever possible. Goods in good shape may go to local donation centers, and electronics or metals are routed to recyclers when options allow. MMWA also runs free e-waste recycling events for Saginaw County residents.
Not for curbside pickups. Leave items outside in an accessible spot with a few notes and your Loader handles the rest. For in-home removal, someone should be present or provide access instructions at booking. Your Loader typically calls about 30 minutes before arrival.
Most haulers like 1-800-GOT-JUNK and local outfits such as Countrywide Disposal price by truckload after an in-person look, so you learn the cost once the truck is in your driveway. LoadUp prices per item online and locks the total in before anyone shows up.
