When junk keeps piling up, it stops being a small chore and becomes a weight you carry around. Book a quick pickup in Ulysses, see your price upfront, and get your space back.
You call around, ask what the city will take, leave a message with a hauler or two, and wait on callbacks that never come. Meanwhile the junk sits in the garage for another month.
Municipal pickup schedules can help with the basics, but they often come with limits on size, item type, and timing. Appliances, mattresses, or a full shed of leftovers may not qualify, and you still have to drag everything out yourself.
Many haulers want to come look first, then quote by the truckload, so you won't know the real cost until someone eyeballs the pile. Smaller outfits can be hard to reach, and the number can shift once the loading starts.
Donation outlets want items in good, resellable shape, and options can be limited in a rural area. Stained furniture, worn mattresses, broken appliances, and scrap lumber usually get turned away, leaving you to haul the rejects somewhere else.
A roll-off sounds simple until you're coordinating delivery and pickup windows, finding a flat spot that won't block the drive, and checking whether you need permission. Then you're still the one lifting every item over a tall steel wall.

A sofa wedged down a narrow basement stairwell or buried in a packed detached garage takes careful lifting to get out. Your Loaders are background-checked and rated by real locals in Ulysses after each job.
If the old recliner or a pile of scrap fencing is already sitting on your driveway or beside the shed, curbside is the simpler fit. For a mattress upstairs, a basement full of boxes, or a cluttered outbuilding, choose full-service and your Loaders will carry everything out for you.

Anyone who has tried to strap a mattress into a pickup bed in a Kansas crosswind knows it's a losing fight, and the drive to a disposal site only adds to it. Your Loaders handle the lifting, loading, and hauling instead, and they genuinely enjoy showing up for the people who keep Ulysses running.
Bulky items pile up fast around a house, shed, or shop, and where they end up matters. In Ulysses, your Loader sorts each pickup by condition, so usable pieces and recyclables stay out of the landfill when possible.
Furniture, appliances, and household goods in good, clean shape can be set aside for donation when possible. Your Loader will take them out for reuse where local options allow, with no promise of a specific charity.
Items that are worn or damaged but still have usable materials, like metal frames, appliances, or scrap, can be sent for recycling where available. Your Loader sorts them, though local outlets may be limited.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken-down bulky items go to an appropriate disposal site for the Ulysses area. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading, so you skip the trailer run.
Trash poking out of a lid or tires left in the alley just stay put, so learn how Ulysses and Grant County handle each item before starting a cleanout.
The City of Ulysses has stopped picking up tires with regular sanitation service. Timing is the workaround: during the spring and fall clean-up weeks, Grant County residents can haul tires to the Grant County Transfer Station free of charge.
Ulysses' blue recycling dumpsters require cardboard boxes to be flattened or broken down. The program does not take styrofoam, glass, or magazines, and plastics are limited to #1 pop bottles and #2 milk jugs.
Ulysses requires large items to be placed on your own property, never next to the dumpster, because those dumpsters sit on a neighbor's property. Trash trucks cannot pick up any container with items sticking or hanging out, so lids must close fully.
Branches and bushes are not allowed in either the brown trash containers or the green grass containers. Instead, Ulysses residents can drop tree limbs and yard waste at the Grant County Transfer Station at no charge any time of year.
Each April and October, Grant County and the City of Ulysses host community clean-ups with free disposal at the county Transfer Station. Residents are asked to sort or haul construction and demolition debris separately from household trash and metal.
The green containers collected on Wednesdays take only grass, leaves, and small clippings, placed loose rather than in plastic bags. If trash turns up in Grass containers, the city removes those containers from the whole area.

Sometimes. If you have a truck or trailer and a small load, hauling it yourself to the Grant County Transfer Station can cost less, since you pay the station's fees. Removal makes more sense when you lack a vehicle, have heavy or bulky items, or want to skip the lifting.
Loaders try to donate usable items and recycle materials whenever possible, depending on acceptance by local organizations and facilities. Items that can't be reused or recycled are taken to an appropriate disposal facility, with the aim of keeping as much out of the landfill as options allow.
Choose your items online, enter your Ulysses address, pick a time window, and see your total before confirming. On pickup day your Loader contacts you ahead of arrival, removes the items, and handles loading. The price you were quoted is the price you pay.
