Junk has a way of piling up until it's all you see. Book LoadUp in Odell, see your price before you commit, and pick a pickup time that fits your week.
You look things up online, call the village office, leave a message with the trash hauler, and ask a couple of haulers for quotes. One calls back, another never does, and weeks later the junk still sits in the garage.
In a village this size, bulky pickup usually depends on the trash hauler's contract, not a city department. That can mean a limited schedule, item restrictions, and a rule that everything sits at the end of the drive. Getting it out of a basement or barn is still your job.
Lots of haulers want to come out and look before they'll quote, and in rural Livingston County that visit can take days to arrange. Then the price depends on how much of the truck your load fills, so you don't know the final number until the job is done.
Donation centers need things they can actually resell, so a recliner with a torn seat or a stained mattress usually gets turned away. Even good pieces need a trailer and a drive to the nearest drop-off, and anything they refuse comes right back home with you.
A roll-off dumpster makes sense for a full gut job, not for a back bedroom and a few old appliances. You have to book delivery and pickup, find a level spot that won't rut the lawn, and still lift everything over the high side yourself.

Many Odell properties have long driveways and open yards, so curbside service works well when an old chest freezer is already outside by the garage or the road. Choose full-service when a sofa is still in the basement or clutter fills a barn loft, and your Loaders will carry it all out for you.

Harvest season keeps Odell busy, and nobody has a free afternoon to haul a worn-out recliner down a two-lane road to a distant facility. Your Loaders do the lifting and carrying so you can stay on the work that matters. LoadUp and your Loaders like showing up for the folks who keep this farm country running.
Bulky items in Odell tend to come out of older houses, garages and outbuildings, so where they end up matters as much as getting them out. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, favoring reuse when possible.
Furniture and household goods in good, clean condition may be taken to donation outlets when local options allow. Your Loader handles the lifting and carrying, and availability depends on what is open near Odell.
Items that are worn or damaged but still have usable materials, like metal frames or old appliances, can go to recycling where available. Your Loader will take them to appropriate outlets when possible.
Heavily damaged or soiled bulky items, such as a collapsed sofa or water-ruined cabinets, are disposed of responsibly. Your Loader hauls them out of your Odell property and to an appropriate disposal site.
Setting out the wrong item can leave it sitting uncollected or break an Illinois landfill ban. Here is what applies in Odell and across Livingston County.
Illinois law prohibits mixing used tires, whole or cut, with municipal waste, and sanitary landfills generally cannot accept them for final disposal. Tires stored outdoors collect rainwater where mosquitoes breed, which is why the state also regulates used tire storage.
Odell does not allow yard waste in trash or recycling containers, and Illinois has banned landscape waste from landfills since 1990. Large tree limbs go to the curb for the village street maintenance crew, usually within two weeks, and leaves must be bagged.
Odell collection skips New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, along with Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Pickup moves to the following day, and any later collection days shift by one day as well.
Livingston County's E-Recycling events do not accept refrigerators, A/C units, microwaves, or other home appliances. Illinois law requires large appliances headed for a landfill to have their refrigerant, mercury switches, and PCB-containing components removed first.
Odell requires all waste to go in the container the village supplies, and garbage service is billed with the monthly water bill. Discarded materials too large for regular collection equipment go through a separate bulk item service arranged with the village's contracted refuse company.
Illinois prohibits landfilling covered electronics such as TVs and monitors. Livingston County holds periodic E-Recycling events that accept computers, monitors, TVs, printers, speakers, tablets, and cell phones with no item limit, but batteries must be removed from every item.

Sometimes, but availability in a small village like Odell depends on Loader routes that day. Enter your address at booking to see the open times. For curbside pickups you usually don't need to be home, but indoor jobs need access arranged.
No. The village says computers, TVs, radios and similar electronics have been banned from regular trash pickup since 2013. Advanced Technology Recycling at 601 E. Prairie St. in Pontiac has taken them free of charge. Livingston County also holds household hazardous waste collection events.
Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them when a charity will accept them. They try to recycle materials such as metal and electronics whenever possible. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to an appropriate disposal facility.
You choose your items and enter your Odell address online, then get a total before you confirm. On pickup day a Loader arrives in your selected window, hauls the items away, and handles the loading. You don't need to move anything to the truck yourself.
The pricing model differs. Traditional haulers usually charge by truckload and may confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a big cleanout, a truckload hauler may suit you better.
If you can wait and the bulk item collection covers your items, Republic's service through the village is usually the cheaper route. A private hauler makes more sense when you need a specific day, have heavy items, or want the items carried out of your home.
