When junk piles up, it turns into one more thing on the to-do list. Book a quick pickup in Ashton, see your price up front, and get your space back.
You search online, call the village office, leave messages with a hauler or two, and wait. Some call back, some never do. Weeks go by, and the junk is still sitting in the garage.
Check with the village office before counting on a free bulk pickup program in Ashton. Small villages often use private trash contracts, and those usually have item limits, set schedules, and rules about appliances or electronics. You still have to drag everything out yourself.
Many haulers want to see the job in person before they give you a number, then price it by how much of the truck it fills. You don't know the real cost until the truck is already in your driveway.
Thrift and donation drop-offs only take items in good, resellable condition, and the closest one may be a drive away. Worn furniture, broken appliances, and odds and ends from a shed cleanout often get turned away, and you're the one loading them back up.
A roll-off sits in your driveway for days, ruts the lawn, and has to be scheduled around delivery and pickup windows. You still do all the heavy lifting yourself, and for one room of clutter you pay for space you never fill.

When clearing out a garage usually means borrowing a trailer, a long drive to a drop-off site, and a Saturday you will not get back, a little help goes far. Your Loader does the lifting, carrying, and loading. Your Loaders like showing up for Ashton neighbors who have always handled things themselves.
Getting rid of bulky items in Ashton takes more than a truck, because nearby disposal choices are limited. Your Loader sorts each load by condition, so donation, recycling, or disposal happens when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods in good, clean condition may go to donation when possible. Your Loader can set these items aside, though availability varies and you should not expect a donation receipt.
Items that are damaged but have usable materials, like scrap metal or wood, may be recycled where available. Options around Lee County can be more limited than in a larger city, so recycling is never guaranteed.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken bulky items go to an appropriate disposal site. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading at your Ashton property, and the facility used depends on what is open and accepting nearby.
A garbage can over the weight limit or an appliance left at the curb can sit there uncollected, so here is how disposal actually works in Ashton and across Lee County.
The Illinois Environmental Protection Act prohibits open burning of refuse, which rules out burn barrels for cleanout junk. Ashton separately regulates outdoor fires, including leaf burning, through an open fires article in its health and sanitation code chapter.
The Village notes that appliances are not collected with regular garbage. State law adds a reason: Illinois bars landfilling white goods like refrigerators and air conditioners until refrigerant, mercury switches, and PCB-containing components have been removed.
Ashton asks residents to keep each can at no more than 50 pounds. Cans go out between 6 a.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday, and by ordinance emptied cans must be pulled back near the house by 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Ashton's landscape ordinance treats anything beyond one one-ton Village truck load on a pickup day as excess. For bigger cleanups, residents can request a Village truck to load themselves, which a Village employee then dumps at no charge, subject to availability.
Under the Illinois Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act, residents may not put covered electronics such as televisions, computer monitors, printers, and computers in the trash. Ashton also excludes large electronics from regular garbage pickup, so they need a recycling outlet.
Ashton's recycling runs through a single dumpster beside the Village Street Department office, serviced under a Lee County contract. Garbage is not allowed in it, and the Village contacts the vendor to have it emptied once it is full.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Ashton starts at $80 for a single item, and curbside or outdoor pickup takes $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge. The exact total is confirmed before booking.
It depends on Loader availability in your area, and rural spots between Rochelle and Dixon may have fewer open slots. Enter your address during booking to see live times. Next-day is often easier to get. For curbside pickups, you usually don't need to be home.
Hazardous items like paint, chemicals, batteries, and fuel usually can't go in regular trash or standard junk loads. Illinois also restricts certain items in landfills, such as electronics. Ask your county or hauler about drop-off options for these items.
Loaders aim to donate usable items to local charities when options allow, and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition and what nearby partners will take.
You pick your items online, see the price, and choose a time window. On pickup day, a Loader typically calls or texts shortly before arriving, then removes the items from where you've pointed. The exact total is confirmed before booking, so there's no estimate haggling at the door.
The main difference is the pricing model. Many traditional haulers, including 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King, price by truckload space, with a final quote often given on-site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a full cleanout, a truckload hauler may fit better.
Yes, for many typical items like old furniture, appliances, and scrap, depending on access and the item. Long gravel drives and outbuildings are common around Ashton, so note them at booking. Large volumes of ag waste or hazardous materials may need a specialized service.
