The Problem

Ormond Beach has junk options. Most come with homework.

You check the city's pickup rules, call a few haulers, and wait on callbacks that never come. One quote arrives vague, another not at all. Meanwhile the garage stays full and another weekend slips by.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

City bulk pickup programs can handle a lot, but they run on their own calendar. You usually have to request a pickup, haul everything to the curb yourself, and stay within limits on what qualifies. Renovation debris, certain appliances, and anything still inside the house often fall outside the rules.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to see the pile in person before naming a number, which means taking time off for a walkthrough. Pricing by fractions of a truckload sounds simple until the total shifts on pickup day. For a snowbird closing a condo, that guesswork is hard to plan around.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores and charities have to be choosy: stains, tears, missing parts, or a musty smell from a humid closet can mean a polite no. Even when they accept something, you still have to load it and drive it over. The rest of the pile stays put.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off makes sense for a gut renovation, not a bedroom cleanout. You pick a size, book delivery and pickup windows, check whether your HOA or street placement needs approval, then do all the lifting yourself. It sits in your driveway for days, in full view of the neighbors.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Serving Ormond Beach, from the Scenic Loop to I-95 and beyond

Florida humidity makes July a poor time to wrestle a sofa into a borrowed truck, and storm season has a way of turning a tidy garage into a to-do list. Your Loaders carry it out and haul it away while you stay in the AC. Showing up for Ormond Beach neighbors is the part we like best.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Big, bulky items are hard to deal with alone, and where they end up matters in Ormond Beach. Your Loader sorts each pickup by condition, with donation, recycling, or disposal depending on what local options allow.

The Ormond Beach disposal rules most residents don't know

Debris set out the wrong way can sit uncollected or bring an extraordinary service charge, and these are the rules that apply in Ormond Beach and Volusia County.

Rule 01

Cardboard must be flattened down to two feet square

The city's recycling guide requires old corrugated cardboard to be flattened to roughly two feet by two feet with all contents removed. That includes cereal boxes and 12-pack containers placed in the blue recycling bin, which is not a garbage container.

Rule 02

Storm debris usually rides with regular Wednesday yard waste

After Hurricane Helene, Ormond Beach told residents to put storm debris out alongside regular yard waste on the citywide Wednesday collection day. Around Hurricane Milton, the city asked residents to hold new items back from the curb while crews cleared piles already out.

Rule 03

Concrete, block and brick are barred from curbside bulk pickup

Ormond Beach lists contractor's debris as unacceptable for bulk pickup, including concrete slabs, concrete blocks, bricks and other material generated while building or altering a home. Curbside bulk service covers items such as old appliances, waste tires, vehicle batteries and used motor oil.

Rule 04

Glass bottles and jars now belong in the trash cart

Ormond Beach no longer collects glass in its curbside recycling program, so bottles and jars from a pantry or garage cleanout go in your solid waste container. Accepted recyclables are newspaper, magazines, aluminum cans, steel or tin cans, rinsed plastic and old corrugated cardboard.

Rule 05

Debris left by your landscaper is not city collection material

City Ordinance Section 10-65 says yard waste generated by a lawn service, tree trimmer or other commercial contractor must be hauled off by that contractor at their own expense. Contractor debris placed at the curb anyway is subject to an extraordinary service charge.

Rule 06

Curbside tire pickup is capped at four per year

Ormond Beach's bulk collection accepts waste tires, but only up to four per year and only with the rims removed. Bulk items go out on your second solid waste collection day of the week, either Thursday or Friday.

Not unless it falls under your city or hauler's bulk pickup rules. Items set out outside those rules can count as illegal dumping and draw code enforcement fines. Check your hauler's bulk item schedule and size limits before putting anything out.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Ormond Beach starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on, and the exact total is confirmed before booking. Traditional haulers usually price by truckload.

Often, depending on Loader availability for your address and the time you book. Enter your zip code during booking to see live same-day and next-day openings. Availability can be tighter on weekends and at the end of the month.

Not for curbside or driveway pickups. Leave the items out with any access notes. For items inside the home or garage, someone should be there, or you can leave access instructions when booking so Loaders can get in.

Hazardous materials like paint, pesticides, pool chemicals, batteries, and fuel generally can't go with regular junk. Volusia County residents should take these to a household hazardous waste drop-off. Furniture, appliances, and yard debris are typically fine to haul.

Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them when local charities will accept them. They try to recycle metals, cardboard, and other materials whenever possible. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to the proper disposal facility.

You pick your items and a time window online, see the total before you confirm, and book. A Loader usually messages ahead of arrival. On pickup day they load everything, sweep the spot, and you pay the price you were quoted.

The main difference is the pricing model. Many traditional haulers charge by truck space and may confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online and shows the total before booking. For big cleanouts, a truckload hauler may suit you better.
