The Problem

Getting rid of junk here takes more than it should

You check the county website, call a couple of haulers, and wait on callbacks that never come. One quote sounds vague, another needs a site visit. Weeks pass, and the junk is still sitting there.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Municipal pickup schedules can work if you live in a single-family home, you can drag everything to the curb yourself, and you're fine waiting for an appointment. Condo residents, renters in larger buildings, and anyone with items that aren't allowed often find it doesn't cover them.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Lots of haulers want to see the job in person before they give you a number, then price it by how much of the truck you fill. You won't know the final cost until the truck is loaded, which makes it hard to plan or compare quotes.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores and charities depend on things they can resell, so a stained couch, a wobbly dresser, or anything worn down by humidity usually gets turned away. Even when they take something, you still have to load it up and drive it over yourself.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

For a single room or a few heavy pieces, a dumpster means booking delivery and pickup, possibly getting a permit for the street, and having a big container sit in a tight driveway for days. Plus you still have to carry everything out and toss it in yourself.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

The Miami disposal rules most residents don't know

Set a pile out wrong and it can sit uncollected or draw a citation, so here is what the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County actually require.

Rule 01

Hold off on curbside piles once a storm watch begins

Miami-Dade County advises residents not to begin tree pruning or cleanup projects, or place trash at the curb, during a tropical storm or hurricane watch or warning. Its guidance is to dispose of household and yard trash before a storm threatens.

Rule 02

Old car tires have a resident-only drop-off option

The City of Miami Mini Dump Facility accepts items like household furniture, clean yard trash, household appliances, and a limited number of car tires without rims from residents who show proof of City residency. Commercial vehicles and materials from commercial contractors are turned away.

Rule 03

Weekly bulky trash covers furniture, electronics, and appliances

The City of Miami Solid Waste Department collects bulky trash once a week, including household furniture, household electronics, and white goods or appliances. Set items in front of your property the evening before, at least five feet from poles, vehicles, and mailboxes.

Rule 04

Remodeling debris only goes curbside after a hurricane

The City of Miami treats demolition and construction materials as eligible for curbside pickup only after a hurricane. Even then, each debris type needs its own pile, because mixing vegetation, appliances, furniture, and building materials can delay removal.

Rule 05

Empty carts left at the curb can draw a citation

In the City of Miami, garbage and recycling carts must be removed within 24 hours after pickup to avoid a citation. Bulky items must stay separate and should never be placed inside green garbage or blue recycling carts.

Rule 06

Blowing grass clippings into storm drains can flood streets

Miami-Dade County warns landscapers and residents not to blow grass clippings onto sidewalks, streets, or storm drains, since it can lead to street flooding. Bag the clippings instead, or blow them back onto the lawn to serve as natural mulch.

Not until you've booked a pickup. Miami-Dade says to wait for a scheduled bulky waste appointment. Put the pile out no more than 3 days ahead and no later than 7 a.m. on pickup day. Early or unscheduled piles risk being treated as illegal dumping.

Eligible Miami-Dade households get two bulky waste pickups per calendar year, up to 25 cubic yards each. The service is covered by the solid waste fee on your tax bill. Accepted items include furniture, appliances and yard trash. The county aims to collect the pile by 5 p.m. on your appointment day.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Miami starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, and each additional item is a flat add-on charge. The exact total is confirmed before booking, so there are no truck-volume estimates.

Same-day pickup is often possible depending on Loader availability in your area. Enter your address at booking to see the live time slots. For curbside or driveway pickups, you usually don't need to be home. For indoor pickups, someone should be there or leave access instructions.

Some items need special handling or prep, so the county won't take them as-is. Mattresses must be sealed in plastic bags with weather-resistant tape or a fine can apply. Hazardous materials, and heavy items beyond the program limits, usually need a Trash and Recycling Center or a private hauler.

Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill. They try to donate furniture and household goods to local charities when options allow, and recycle metals and electronics where facilities accept them. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to an appropriate disposal facility.

Choose your items and enter your Miami address online, then pick a pickup window. You see the price before you confirm. On pickup day, your Loader gets in touch before arriving. They remove the items from where you indicated, whether that's inside or at the curb.

The main differences are pricing model and booking flow. 1-800-GOT-JUNK prices by truck volume, though its Flex service lists instant pricing from $39. LoadUp prices per item online, with the total locked before booking. For a large cleanout, a truckload hauler may suit you better.
