When junk piles up, it stops being a small chore and starts being a weight on your week. Book LoadUp in the Thread City, see your upfront quote, and get it gone.
You check the town's website, call about the pickup schedule, request a few hauler quotes, and hear back from maybe one. A week goes by, then another, and the junk is still in the garage.
Enfield's municipal pickup schedules help with a lot, but bulky items often need advance arrangements, some things aren't accepted, and nobody comes inside. If it's stuck in a basement in Thompsonville or a detached shed, getting it to the curb is your job.
Many haulers want to send someone to look before they'll give you a number, then charge by how much of the truck you fill. You don't know the final bill until the work is done, and that's not a great feeling.
Thrift stores and charities have to be selective. Stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and furniture with a broken drawer usually get turned away, and some places won't pick up at all. Donation handles a few items well, but it rarely clears out a whole room.
A roll-off sounds simple until you're planning around drop-off and pickup dates, protecting your driveway, and checking whether you need a permit. It also sits in front of the house for days. For one room's worth of stuff, that's more container than the job needs.

Steep, narrow basement stairs in an older two-family house or a low-clearance garage loft are routine for your Loaders, who are background-checked and rated by real locals in Enfield after each job.
If the old sofa is already at the end of your driveway in one of Enfield's newer subdivisions, choose curbside service so your Loaders can load it and go. For a dresser on the second floor of an older multi-family building, or a basement full of boxes, full-service means your Loaders carry everything out from inside for you.

Anyone who has crawled down Hazard Avenue past Enfield Square on a Saturday knows a loose sofa in the truck bed does not help. Between the traffic and the basement stairs, a quick errand eats the day. Your Loaders genuinely like showing up for Enfield neighbors, carrying it out so your weekend stays yours.
Bulky items rarely fit in a trunk, and in Enfield they often come out of basements, garages, and sheds. What happens after pickup depends on condition, so your Loader sorts each item toward donation, recycling, or disposal.
Furniture and household goods in good, clean condition may be donated when local options allow. Your Loader sets those items aside for that path. If you want a receipt, arrange the donation yourself.
Items that are worn or damaged but not fit for donation may be recycled where available, such as metal frames or wood. Your Loader separates them during loading so reusable materials stay out of the trash when possible.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or contaminated big items, like a water-ruined sofa or a broken-down shed panel, go to responsible disposal. Your Loader hauls them away from your Enfield driveway or curb, and nothing is promised to be recycled.
A refrigerator left in a bulky pile won't be picked up, and lumber in a yard waste tipper can trigger fines. These rules apply in Enfield, Hartford County.
Refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers and any other items with Freon are prohibited from Enfield's curbside bulky collection. They have to be brought to the Transfer Station, where the town charges a $20 fee per item.
Brown tippers are collected Fridays from April until early December, weather permitting, and take limbs up to 2 inches thick. Lumber, dirt or rocks in a tipper may bring fines to the Town; permit holders can drop yard waste at the Transfer Station free.
Enfield offers free textile recycling at the Transfer Station and the Public Works Complex, where the drop-off box can be accessed at any time. Accepted items include clothing, shoes, pocketbooks, duffle bags, belts, household linens and stuffed animals.
Demolition materials from home improvement projects are barred from every tipper, including during a scheduled bulky pickup. Scrap wood and lumber go out for bulky pickup only when tied in bundles no longer than 6 feet, and contractors need a building permit for town disposal.
Electronics are excluded from curbside bulky pickup, but the Transfer Station takes televisions, microwaves and other electronics at no charge to residents. Its list covers items like printers, fax machines, VCR players, video game systems, toasters and coffee makers.
Furniture, mattresses, carpets and other items too large for weekly refuse collection are picked up by prepaid appointment only, and not at apartment or condo complexes. Items must be sorted into separate piles curbside, never under house wires.

Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance at local facilities. Items that can't be reused or recycled go to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition, and none are guaranteed.
You book online, choose your items and a pickup window, and see the full price before confirming. On pickup day your Loader typically gives notice before arriving, then removes the items from inside your home or from the curb or driveway.
