Superior's town yard waste site accepts grass clippings, leaves and branches under six inches across from residents showing identification. Sod, rock, lumber, food scraps and construction debris are turned away, and a contaminated bin is treated as trash rather than compost.
Superior's municipal code lists construction materials, trash bins, roll-offs and debris placed on public rights-of-way or public property as a specified nuisance without proper permits. The town asks that containers sit on private driveways instead.
Accumulating trash, rubbish, junk or inoperable vehicles on property not zoned for it is a nuisance in Superior. If not abated after notice, the town can pursue abatement through municipal court and assess costs plus a fifteen percent inspection charge against the responsible party.
