When junk keeps piling up, it stops being a small chore and starts weighing on you. Book LoadUp for a quick pickup, with the price shown upfront before you commit.
You call the county, then your trash hauler, then a few junk companies. One wants to come look first, another never calls back. Weeks go by and the pile in the garage hasn't moved.
Shingle Springs has no city government, so there's no city program. Bulky pickup here goes through county or hauler-based service, which usually means scheduling ahead, item limits, and dragging everything to the road yourself. On a long or sloped driveway, that last part is the hard part.
Many haulers want to drive out and see the job before they give you a number. Then the price depends on how much of the truck your stuff fills, which you're guessing at until the load is on. Out here, a trip to the property can also mean waiting days for a visit.
Thrift stores and charities want items they can resell, so stained furniture, worn mattresses, and broken appliances often get turned away. You still have to load and drive what they'll accept, then figure out where everything else goes.
A dumpster makes sense for a full remodel. For one barn corner or a single room, you're paying for space you won't fill, finding level ground for the delivery truck, working around rental windows, and doing all the lifting and tossing yourself.

Out here, a dump run means a loaded truck bed, a steep grade home, a gate to latch behind you, and half a day gone. Nobody signed up for that when they bought a place in the foothills. Your Loaders handle the lifting and loading, and they genuinely like showing up for neighbors who keep this community running.
Bulky items pile up fast on foothill properties, and where they end up matters as much as getting them gone. In Shingle Springs, your Loader sorts each item by condition, favoring donation or recycling when possible.
Furniture, appliances, and household goods in good, clean condition may be donated when possible and local options allow. Your Loader sets them aside for that path, though availability varies in a semi-rural area.
Items that are worn or damaged but not donatable may be recycled where available. Metal frames, old appliances, and similar pieces are good candidates, and your Loader separates them from general debris when local options allow.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or contaminated bulky items, like ruined mattresses or broken-down furniture, go to a licensed disposal site. Your Loader handles the loading, and routing depends on what El Dorado County options accept.
Getting disposal wrong can mean a turned-away load or a state burn permit violation, and these are the rules that apply in Shingle Springs and unincorporated El Dorado County.
County-approved garbage rates for unincorporated west slope customers already include two free bulky item pickups per year, scheduled through El Dorado Disposal or its app. Bulky items can also be taken to the Material Recovery Facility, where disposal fees may apply.
Shingle Springs sits within the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit, where burn barrels are banned. Residential burn permits cover only dry, natural vegetation grown on your own property, and piles larger than 4 feet by 4 feet need a separate air district permit.
California classifies household batteries, including alkaline AA and AAA cells, as hazardous waste, so they cannot go in the garbage. In unincorporated El Dorado County, spent batteries can be dropped at the Material Recovery Facility instead.
Residential El Dorado Disposal customers in unincorporated areas get two annual vouchers, one for a 2.5 cubic yard curbside green waste pickup and one for a free 2.5 cubic yard load at the Material Recovery Facility, plus unlimited spring and fall curbside green waste events.
The county's drop-off at El Dorado Hills Fire Station 86 closed at the end of 2024. West slope residents can bring household hazardous waste free to the Diamond Springs Material Recovery Facility Friday through Sunday, up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip.
El Dorado Disposal's Material Recovery Facility accepts cardboard, office paper, newspaper, and magazines at no charge, and offers CRV buy-back for cans and bottles. That helps when a cleanout produces more boxes than a recycling cart can hold, since cart lids must close fully.

(678) 884-4738Not unless it's part of a scheduled pickup with your trash hauler. Shingle Springs is unincorporated, so county rules apply, and items left out without an arrangement can count as illegal dumping. Check your hauler's bulky item policy first.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Shingle Springs starts at $75 for a single item, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking. Truckload haulers usually quote by volume.
Sometimes. Availability depends on Loader schedules and your address, so enter your zip code during booking to see open time slots. Next-day and later slots are generally easier to get. Shingle Springs sits along Highway 50, which helps with routing.
For curbside or driveway pickups, no. Leave the items out and add access notes when booking. For items inside a home, garage, or shed, someone should be there or you can leave clear access instructions. Your Loader gives notice before arriving.
Hazardous materials like paint, solvents, pesticides, and fuel generally can't go in regular trash or a standard junk haul. El Dorado County residents should use the county's household hazardous waste program for these. Large brush and yard debris may also have separate disposal rules.
Loaders aim to keep items out of the landfill whenever possible. Usable furniture and household goods may go to local donation partners depending on acceptance, and recyclable materials are sorted when options allow. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to an appropriate disposal facility.
You book online, choose your items and a time window, and see the total before confirming. On pickup day your Loader arrives, confirms the items, carries them out, and loads the truck. You don't need to move anything yourself, and you pay only the confirmed price.
The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers like 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King typically price by truckload volume, often confirmed at the door. LoadUp prices per item online and locks the total before booking. For large cleanouts, a truckload hauler can be a better fit.
