The Problem

Getting junk out of Ontario shouldn't take a month

You search for options, call the city's waste line, request a few hauler quotes, and wait. One hauler never calls back, another wants to come look first. Weeks go by, and the junk is still in the garage.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Ontario's city bulk pickup program is worth checking first, but you have to request it ahead of time, and some items aren't accepted. Once it's booked, you still have to drag everything to the curb yourself and wait for the date it's scheduled.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to see the pile in person before they'll give you a number, then they price it by how much of the truck it fills. You only find out what you owe once the loading is finished.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores and charities have to be selective, so stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and broken furniture usually get turned away. Even when they'll take your good pieces, you still have to load them, drive them over, and figure out what to do with the rest.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off container makes sense for a full gut renovation, not a one-bedroom cleanout. It can take up your driveway for days, may need a permit or HOA approval, and you still do all the lifting and tossing yourself.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Ontario, from the 10 freeway south through Ontario Ranch

Loading an old mattress into a borrowed truck is rough enough, and an Inland Empire July at triple digits makes it worse. Your Loaders are happy to take the lifting, the sweat, and the dump run off your plate. Showing up for Ontario neighbors is the part of the job your Loaders genuinely like.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items rarely belong in one place once they leave an Ontario home, and where they end up depends on their condition. Your Loader sorts what they pick up and looks for the best option local rules allow.

Donation Pickup

Couches, dressers, and other furniture in good, clean shape may go to a donation partner when local options allow. If you want a receipt, arrange the donation yourself directly with a charity.

Local Disposal Rules

The Ontario disposal rules most residents don't know

Putting a battery or old refrigerator in the wrong place can violate California hazardous waste law, so here is how disposal works in Ontario and San Bernardino County.

Rule 01

Ontario's Integrated Waste Department is the city's sole collection provider

The City of Ontario Integrated Waste Department is the sole provider of refuse collection for every residential and commercial customer in the city. Regular service and added services are arranged through the city rather than an outside company.

Rule 02

Passenger car tires go to quarterly cleanup events, four maximum

Tires are not on Ontario's regular bulky pickup list. The city's quarterly community cleanup drop-off events accept passenger car tires, with a limit of four. Residents can also bring scrap metal and wood waste such as lumber to these events.

Rule 03

Major appliances must have refrigerant and mercury removed before scrapping

California law requires refrigerants, mercury switches, and other materials that need special handling to be removed from major appliances before they are crushed or recycled. Ontario's bulky item program lists appliances and water heaters as accepted items, so they never belong in a trash cart.

Rule 04

Items dumped in alleys draw police and city cleanup response

Ontario's Integrated Waste Department works with the city's Debris Removal crew and the Ontario Police Department to fight illegal dumping, and it serviced 4,700 dumping sites in 2025. Residents can report abandoned items on roadways and in alleys through the myOntario App.

Rule 05

Four free bulky pickups a year cover furniture and carpet

Ontario residents get four free bulky item collections per year through Integrated Waste. Accepted items include furniture and mattresses, carpet, and bundled or bagged green waste, so a larger cleanout can be split across appointments. The service is limited to Ontario residents.

Rule 06

Batteries and fluorescent bulbs are banned from California trash carts

California classifies household batteries, fluorescent lamps, and many electronics as universal waste, and none of it can go in the trash. Ontario's household hazardous waste facility takes universal and electronic waste free for residents, with loads limited to 15 gallons per trip.

Not unless it is part of a scheduled bulky item collection through your city trash hauler. Items set out with no appointment can be treated as illegal dumping. For current limits and scheduling, call the City of Ontario Recycling Hotline at (909) 395-2040.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Ontario starts at $75, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking. Traditional haulers usually price by truck volume.

Same-day slots are often available in the Ontario area, depending on demand and your address. Enter your zip code during booking to see live availability. For curbside pickups you don't need to be home. For in-home pickups, someone should be there or leave access notes.

Household hazardous waste like paint, motor oil, pesticides and cleaners can't go in regular bins or a standard haul. Ontario residents can drop these off free at the HHW facility at 1430 S. Cucamonga Ave, open Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM. Sharps are also banned from trash.

Loaders try to keep usable items out of the landfill by donating them when local charities will accept them. They recycle what they can, such as metal and cardboard. Outcomes depend on item condition and facility acceptance, so nothing is guaranteed. Whatever is left goes to an appropriate disposal facility.

Pick your items online, enter your Ontario address, and choose a pickup window. The total is shown before you confirm. Your Loader typically gives a heads-up before arriving, then carries the items out and loads them, so you don't have to lift anything.

The main difference is the pricing model. 1-800-GOT-JUNK charges by the volume your items take up in the truck. LoadUp prices per item online, with the total confirmed before booking. A truckload service can suit a big cleanout better, while per-item pricing tends to suit smaller jobs.
