Junk has a way of piling up until it's one more thing on your list. LoadUp makes clearing it out simple, with a quick pickup and a clear price before you book.
You look up the city's rules, call the trash hauler, and request a few quotes. One company never calls back and another wants to come look first. Weeks go by and the junk is still in your garage.
Imperial Beach residents can request bulky item pickup through the city's waste hauler. You usually have to book ahead and wait for an open date, and some items don't qualify. You also still have to carry everything to the pickup spot on your own.
A lot of local haulers want to see the job in person before they'll give you a number. Then they price by how much of the truck you fill, so you won't really know the total until the load is on board and it's too late to back out.
Thrift stores and charities have to be choosy. If a couch is stained, a dresser is wobbly, or a table is missing parts, they'll often turn it down. Then you're the one hauling it back home and figuring out what to do next.
A roll-off container needs room to park, and most compact lots and narrow alleys here don't have much. You may need a permit if it sits on the street, and you have to line up delivery and pickup dates. Your neighbors get to look at it the whole time.

Salt air is hard on garage storage, and a rusted grill or sagging patio set outstays its welcome. Add tight alleys and a parking spot you'd never give up, and a dump run loses its charm. Your Loaders gladly do the carrying, because showing up for this town is the best part of the job.
Bulky items pile up fast in a small coastal city like Imperial Beach, and where they end up matters. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, so reuse and recycling are considered when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods in good, clean condition may be set aside for donation when local options allow. Your Loader carries them out and loads them separately, so usable pieces have a chance at a second home.
Items that are worn or damaged but not donatable, like metal frames or old electronics, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them during loading so recyclable materials aren't mixed with general trash.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken bulky items, such as ruined mattresses or collapsed sofas, go to responsible disposal. Your Loader handles the hauling from garage, yard, or upstairs unit to an appropriate local facility.
Guess wrong and curbside items get left behind, or leftover chemicals reach storm drains that empty toward the ocean. These rules apply in Imperial Beach and San Diego County.
EDCO's bulky item program does not take tires. California requires anyone carrying 10 or more waste or used tires at once to hold a waste tire hauler registration from CalRecycle. Residents with nine or fewer can take them to a facility that accepts tires.
Storm drains in this coastal city carry runoff to the ocean and bay without treatment, so rinsing paint or solvents outdoors pollutes local water. EDCO will not take paints or thinners at the curb, but California's PaintCare program accepts leftover paint free at drop-off sites.
Residential EDCO customers in Imperial Beach can schedule two free bulky item pickups a year, with a limit of three items each time. Items go at the curb or the end of the driveway by 6:00 a.m. Only one television or computer monitor is accepted.
California adds a recycling fee when you buy a mattress or box spring. That fee pays for the Bye Bye Mattress program, which takes used mattresses and box springs for free at participating collection sites across the state, so they stay out of landfills.
Under California law, refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners must have their refrigerant and other hazardous parts removed by a certified operator before they are crushed or recycled. EDCO lists refrigerators, air conditioners, and stoves as items it accepts through bulky item pickup.
EDCO's bulky program does not take concrete, asphalt, or dirt. For permitted construction and demolition projects, California's CALGreen building code requires recycling or salvaging at least 65 percent of nonhazardous debris. Projects may need to show records of this before a permit is closed out.

(678) 884-4738Only through a scheduled pickup. EDCO, the city's hauler, runs a Bulky Item Pickup program where you set items out by 6:00 a.m. on your appointed day. Items left out without an appointment can be treated as illegal dumping under the municipal code.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Imperial Beach starts at $75 for a single item, and curbside pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.
Often, yes. Same-day or next-day junk pickup is available when you book before 12pm, depending on schedule openings for your address. For curbside jobs you can leave items out with access notes, so you don't need to be home.
EDCO's bulky pickup covers large household items, but paint, chemicals, batteries and similar hazardous materials generally need a separate route. The city lists a Household Hazardous Waste program for those, so check it before putting them with other junk.
Loaders aim to keep items out of the landfill whenever options allow. Usable pieces are donated depending on charity acceptance, recyclables go to recycling facilities, and only what can't be reused or recycled is disposed of properly. Outcomes vary by item condition.
You pick your items and a time slot online, then see the upfront price before confirming. Your Loaders arrive in the scheduled window, usually with a heads-up call or text first, then load everything and haul it away, so there's no hauling on your end.
For a few large household items and no rush, the free EDCO program is often the better deal. A paid service makes sense when you need a specific day, want pickup from inside the garage or home, or have a mix of items beyond the city's program.
Mainly the pricing model. Truckload haulers such as 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King typically quote by how much space your items fill in the truck. LoadUp prices per item online, so the total is shown and locked in before anyone arrives.
