The Problem

Getting junk out of the Village shouldn't take all season

You look up pickup rules, call the trash hauler, then the county, and leave messages for a few haulers. Some quote, some never call back. Weeks later, the junk is still sitting in the garage.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Big Park has no city government, so no city bulk pickup program. Any bulk service comes through your private trash hauler or HOA, often with item limits, request windows, and rules about what can sit out front. Heavy pieces still have to reach the curb somehow.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to see the job in person before they'll name a number, and that means waiting at home for the visit. Truckload pricing can leave you guessing how much space your pile takes up, and the final total sometimes shifts once the crew arrives.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Thrift stores and charities have to be choosy about condition, so stained upholstery, worn mattresses, and broken pieces often get turned away. Even items they do take usually have to be loaded and driven over by you, and whatever they refuse still needs somewhere to go.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off container makes sense for a full gut remodel, not a spare bedroom cleanout. You coordinate delivery and pickup, HOA rules may limit where it can sit, neighbors get a view of it for days, and you still do all the lifting yourself.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Serving Big Park, all along State Route 179

Nobody pictures a quiet morning with coffee and a view turning into a dump run with a loaded truck bed and a long drive each way. Hillside driveways and back patio steps make heavy things harder, too. Your Loaders handle the lifting and loading, and they genuinely like showing up for neighbors here.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Bulky items pile up fast in a hillside home, and deciding where they go next is half the job. In Big Park, your Loader sorts each item by condition, favoring donation or recycling when local options allow.

Local Disposal Rules

The Big Park disposal rules most residents don't know

A mixed load can be turned away or billed at a costlier rate, so these rules apply to Big Park residents in unincorporated Yavapai County.

Rule 01

Pulling tires off their wheels lowers the disposal cost

The hazardous waste collection event refuses tires of any kind, but Yavapai County transfer stations accept passenger tires. Passenger tires without wheels get a free allowance each year, and tires still on wheels cost more. Other tire types must be weighed at a county tire yard.

Rule 02

Cactus and stumps stay out of the free spring slash window

Each spring, Yavapai County drops its fees for slash at county transfer stations. In 2026 that runs from April 1 through June 1 and covers brush, branches, grass, leaves and yard trimmings. Slash must come out of plastic bags. Lumber, stumps, roots and cactus are refused.

Rule 03

Old CRT televisions have a cap at the fall collection

Sedona and Yavapai County hold a yearly household hazardous waste and electronics event for residents of Sedona and unincorporated Yavapai County. It accepts desktop and laptop computers, flatscreen TVs, and printers and scanners, but takes no more than 20 CRT TVs and monitors in total. Commercial business waste is turned away.

Rule 04

Heavy renovation debris is billed in its own category

At Yavapai County transfer stations, sheet rock, concrete, mortar, particle board, roofing, carpet, doors, large lumber, solar panels and rock are charged a construction debris rate. Unusually heavy items fall under it too. That rate costs considerably more per cubic yard than household trash.

Rule 05

Latex paint gets dried out rather than dropped off

The free hazardous waste event run by Sedona and Yavapai County does not take latex or acrylic paint. Officials suggest mixing in kitty litter or sawdust until the paint dries and then putting it in the regular trash. If the dried paint comes out of the can, recycle the can.

Rule 06

Appliances holding refrigerant cost more to drop off

Yavapai County transfer stations charge more for appliances with refrigerant than for appliances without it. The fee is charged for each appliance, not by volume, so every unit that holds refrigerant adds its own fee to the trip.

Not unless your trash hauler has scheduled it. Big Park is unincorporated Yavapai County, so there is no city bulk pickup program. Items left out without arrangements can count as illegal dumping, so confirm with your hauler or HOA first.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Big Park starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.

Same-day slots are sometimes available, but it depends on Loader schedules around Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek. Enter your address during booking to see live availability. Curbside pickups don't require you to be home.

Not for curbside or driveway pickups. Leave the items out and add access notes at booking. For indoor pickups, someone should be there or you can leave entry instructions, such as a gate or garage code for your community.

Hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, pesticides, and chemicals generally can't go with regular junk. Large or heavy loads may also need a county transfer station or landfill. Check Yavapai County waste guidelines for current drop-off rules.

Loaders sort items and aim to donate usable pieces and recycle materials whenever possible, depending on acceptance by local facilities. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to an appropriate disposal facility.

Pick your items online, choose a time window, and see your price before you confirm. On pickup day a Loader arrives in your window, usually with a heads-up call beforehand, then removes the items and hauls them away.

The main difference is pricing and booking. Traditional haulers often price by truckload and may confirm the price at the property. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms your total before booking. For a large cleanout, a truckload quote can be a better fit.
