The Problem

Getting rid of junk here takes more than a truck

You search for options, call around about pickup rules, and leave messages with a few haulers who never call back. A week turns into a month, and the junk is still in the carport waiting on a plan.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Free municipal pickup schedules can help, but they come with rules. Many programs cap how much you can set out, exclude certain items, or require you to request a slot and wait. You still have to drag everything to the road yourself.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many old-school haulers want to come out and look before they'll name a number, then price by how much of the truck you fill. That makes the final bill hard to predict until the job is already underway.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers need items they can actually resell, so stained upholstery, broken pieces, and worn-out appliances often get turned away. You might find a home for a few things, but the rest still needs somewhere to go.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off container sits in your driveway for days, may need a permit or HOA approval, and has to be scheduled for drop-off and pickup. For a single garage corner or spare room, you end up paying for space and loading it yourself.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Blue Mountain, and the whole Anniston-Oxford area

Blue Mountain did not get its name from flat ground, and anyone who has eased a truck bed down a hill with a dresser rattling behind them knows a dump run is never a quick errand. Your Loaders handle the lifting and the hauling, and they like showing up for neighbors who would rather keep their Saturday.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Big, bulky items are hard to move alone, and where they end up matters as much as getting them out. In Blue Mountain, your Loader sorts each item by condition, aiming to keep usable things out of the landfill.

Gently Used

Donation Pickup

Furniture and household goods that are clean and in good shape may be donated when local options allow. Your Loader sets these aside during loading, though a donation outlet is never guaranteed.

  • Tax-deductible receipt by request
  • Diverts waste from landfill
  • Free up your space and help a neighbor

Visible Wear

Recycling

Items that are worn or damaged but not fit for donation, like metal frames or old appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them from the load when possible.

  • Materials sorted and recovered
  • Diverted from landfill where possible
  • Compliant with local waste regs

Heavily Damaged

Responsible Disposal

Heavily damaged, soaked, or contaminated bulky items like ruined sofas or broken fixtures go to an appropriate disposal site. Your Loader carries them out and loads them, and the final destination depends on local facilities.

  • No logistics or transport to handle
  • No sorting or drop-off required on your end
  • Local disposal fees covered

Local Disposal Rules

The Blue Mountain disposal rules most residents don't know

A pile that breaks the rules gets left at the curb. These are the rules for Blue Mountain, which is now mostly part of Anniston, and for Calhoun County.

Rule 01

Storm limbs must be cut under six feet long

After a thunderstorm brings down branches, Anniston's bulk pickup will take tree limbs only if they are under 6 feet long. Large tree stumps are not accepted. Bagged leaves go in the bulk pile, and the City Street Department still picks up loose leaf piles.

Rule 02

Hazardous household chemicals are excluded from bulk collection

Anniston's bulk pickup won't accept antifreeze, insecticides, herbicides, batteries or chemicals because they count as hazardous materials. If you're clearing out a garage or shed, separate these containers from furniture and other bulk items before anything goes to the curb.

Rule 03

Furniture and mattresses share one weekly pile with strict dimensions

In 2025, weekly curbside bulk pickup replaced Anniston's quarterly roll-off dumpsters in each ward. Each home can set out one pile per week, up to 6 feet long, 6 feet wide and 4 feet high. A bigger cleanout can be spread over several weeks.

Rule 04

Alleyway piles need an arrangement before you set them out

The city prefers bulk items at the curb in front of the property. Anniston warns residents not to assume items left in an alley will be picked up unless they've made an arrangement with 121 Disposal. Keep piles clear of mailboxes, utility poles, fences and vehicles.

Rule 05

Roofing shingles and concrete are left out of curbside pickup

Anniston won't accept concrete, dirt, roofing shingles, rocks or sawdust for bulk pickup. Calhoun County runs a separate construction and demolition landfill past the main scale house, where an attendant checks each load and shows drivers where to unload.

Rule 06

Moving boxes and cardboard can go in the bulk pile

Anniston's bulk guidelines list cloth, paper, cardboard and cardboard boxes as accepted items, along with tin cans and glass. After a move or garage cleanout, boxes can go in the weekly curbside pile instead of filling up the regular trash cart.

Not unless it's part of a scheduled pickup. Blue Mountain is a tiny community, and I couldn't confirm a town bulk program, so check with the town hall first. Leaving junk out unscheduled can be treated as illegal dumping in Alabama.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Blue Mountain starts at $75, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.

Sometimes. Same-day slots depend on Loader availability around the Anniston-Oxford area, so enter your address during booking to see live options. Next-day and scheduled windows are usually easier to get. For curbside pickups you don't need to be home.

The Calhoun County Landfill at 3625 Morrisville Road in Anniston, phone 256-236-2411, accepts household waste, and its transfer station handles items like kitchen trash. Household garbage and tires carry a fee, and fees change, so call before you load up.

Loaders sort items and aim to donate usable pieces to local charities and recycle what accepts recycling, depending on acceptance. Items that can't be reused or recycled go to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by job and item condition.

You pick your items and address online, see an upfront price, and choose a time window. Your Loader typically calls or texts before arriving, then removes the items and hauls them away. The total is confirmed before booking, not after the truck shows up.

Mainly in pricing and booking. Traditional haulers such as 1-800-GOT-JUNK or local crews often price by truckload or by estimate. LoadUp prices per item online upfront. For a large cleanout filling a whole truck, a truckload hauler may be a better fit.
