The Problem

Getting junk out in Jacksonville is harder than it looks

You search online, call the city, request a few hauler quotes, and wait. One company never calls back, another wants to come look first. Weeks go by, and the junk is still sitting in the garage.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

City bulk pickup programs can work if your items qualify and you can wait for your scheduled day. Rules depend on where you live, and the beach towns run their own service. You still have to get everything to the curb yourself, which is the hardest part.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Lots of haulers won't give you a price until someone comes out to look. Then the quote is based on how much of the truck you fill, which is hard to guess ahead of time. You often don't know the final cost until they finish loading.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers need items they can actually resell, so stains, tears, missing parts, or worn finishes can get something turned away. Plenty of places won't take mattresses or older appliances. You may load up the car and still drive home with half of it.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A dumpster makes sense for a full gut job, not for clearing out one spare room. You book delivery and pickup, figure out where it can legally sit, and maybe deal with HOA rules or neighbors who don't love it. And you still do all the lifting.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Match the service to where your items sit

Curbside fits when everything is already outside at the end of a driveway, a common setup in newer suburban subdivisions with room to stage a pile. Choose full-service for an older home with tight hallways, an upstairs apartment, or a backyard shed, and your Loaders handle the lifting from the room, garage, or yard.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Jacksonville, inside and outside the 295 loop

Loading an old sofa into a borrowed truck and inching over the Fuller Warren Bridge at rush hour is a rite of passage nobody asked for. Jacksonville distances are long enough already. Your Loader does the lifting and carrying while you keep your Saturday, because your Loaders genuinely like showing up for neighbors here.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Big, bulky items are hard to move alone, and where they end up matters across Jacksonville's very different neighborhoods. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, so usable pieces can be donated when local options allow.

Donation Pickup

Furniture, small appliances, and household goods in clean, working shape may be donated where available. Your Loader can set these aside, though acceptance depends on local options and is never guaranteed.

  • Tax-deductible receipt by request
  • Diverts waste from landfill
  • Free up your space and help a neighbor

Visible Wear

Recycling

Items that are worn or damaged but not fit for donation, such as metal frames or old electronics, may be recycled when possible. Availability varies, so recycling is never promised for every item.

  • Materials sorted and recovered
  • Diverted from landfill where possible
  • Compliant with local waste regs

  • No logistics or transport to handle
  • No sorting or drop-off required on your end
  • Local disposal fees covered

Local Disposal Rules

The Jacksonville disposal rules most residents don't know

If you set items out the wrong way, they can be left at the curb or miss their chance at recycling. Here is how Jacksonville and Duval County handle common cleanout items.

Rule 01

Yard waste must be fully natural and under 40 pounds

Jacksonville's weekly yard waste collection takes only natural, vegetative material, so plywood and treated or painted wood don't belong in it. No single item or container can weigh more than forty pounds. That matters after storms bring down heavy branches.

Rule 02

Electronics left at the curb go to the landfill

Televisions, computer monitors, printers and similar e-waste left at the curb get picked up with the garbage. Once they're in the garbage, they can't be recycled. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility recycles them, with a limit of three CRTs and televisions per customer.

Rule 03

Debris from contractor work is the contractor's job to remove

City policy says the contractor who did the work must remove any debris from that work. It shouldn't be set out for home trash pickup. Small businesses that pay for city trash service must also arrange their own disposal of building materials.

Rule 04

Pool chemicals never belong in a Jacksonville garbage cart

Municipal Code Section 380.209 makes it illegal to put any kind of hazardous waste in home trash pickup. Leftover pool chemicals, pesticides and acids from garages and sheds go to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility or a mobile collection event instead.

Rule 05

Old or storm-damaged fencing must be cut before bulk pickup

Jacksonville's bulk pickup takes fencing only when it's prepared the right way. Wooden fences must be cut into sections five feet or shorter, and wire fencing must be rolled into secured bundles. Pieces longer than five feet don't meet the bulk pickup rules.

Rule 06

Appliances need an advance request and closed or removed doors

In Jacksonville, appliances aren't part of regular curbside bulk pickup. You must schedule a pickup ahead of time with the Solid Waste Division. Before you set an appliance out, close its doors securely or take them off, and remove any food or other contents.

Only what your regular collection covers. Bulky items like appliances need a call to (904) 630-CITY (2489) before they go out. Dumping trash on vacant land, roads or ditches is illegal, and the Jacksonville Litter Law carries fines of $100 to $2,000.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Jacksonville starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on, and the exact total is confirmed before booking. Truckload haulers usually quote on-site.

Same-day pickup is often possible, depending on the schedule in your zip code. Enter your address at booking to see the live openings for Riverside, Mandarin, Arlington and other neighborhoods. Someone only needs to be home if the items are inside and access isn't arranged.

Household hazardous waste such as paint, chemicals and batteries can't go out with regular trash. Jacksonville residents can take it to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2675 Commonwealth Avenue. Construction debris and yard waste overages go to Trail Ridge Landfill, where fees may apply.

Loaders aim to keep usable items out of the landfill. Depending on acceptance, furniture and household goods may go to local donation partners, and recyclable materials to recyclers. Items that can't be donated or recycled go to the appropriate disposal facility.

You pick the items and a time window online, then see the total before you confirm. On pickup day your Loader arrives in that window, removes the items and hauls them away. You don't need to load anything yourself, and curbside pickups can be done without you home.

The pricing model differs. Truckload haulers like 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King generally confirm multi-item prices after seeing the load on-site. LoadUp prices per item online, with the total confirmed before booking. For big whole-house cleanouts, a full-service truckload crew can be a good fit.
