When junk piles up, it takes over your week. Book LoadUp, see your price upfront, and get it gone fast, no truck rental needed, right here in the Putnam County seat.
You call city hall, scroll local hauler pages, and leave a voicemail or two. One call comes back with a vague quote, another never calls back at all, and weeks later the junk is still parked where it was.
Municipal pickup schedules are a real help when your items fit the rules. Many programs need a request in advance, cap what goes out, or skip appliances and loose debris. You still have to haul everything to the curb yourself, then wait for the right week.
Many old-school haulers won't quote until someone comes out to look, which means booking a visit just to get a number. Then the price depends on how much of the truck they decide your load fills. You often don't know the real total until the work is done.
Donation centers need items they can actually resell, so stained couches, worn mattresses, and broken furniture often get turned away. Even items in good shape are left to you to load up and drop off. If you want a receipt, you'll have to handle that trip yourself.
A roll-off sounds simple until you're arranging delivery, checking whether you need a permit, and losing your driveway for days. On narrow older streets, a big steel bin can annoy the neighbors. And you still carry every heavy piece out and lift it in yourself.

In Greencastle, borrowing a neighbor's pickup for a dump run usually costs you an hour of conversation, and when DePauw wraps up the school year, every truck in town is suddenly spoken for. Skip the favor hunt. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading, and LoadUp and your Loaders genuinely love showing up for this town.
Bulky items pile up fast, and in Greencastle, what happens after pickup matters as much as the haul itself. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, so usable pieces and recyclables stay out of the trash when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods in good, clean condition may be donated when possible. If you want a receipt, arrange the donation yourself. Otherwise, your Loader can haul the items away for you.
Items that are worn or damaged but not donatable, like metal frames or old appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them from the rest of the load at pickup.
Heavily damaged or contaminated bulky items, like soaked mattresses or broken sofas, are handled responsibly. Your Loader carries them out of your Greencastle home and takes them to an appropriate disposal site.
A banned item in the trash can be rejected at the landfill, and illegal dumping brings state enforcement. Here is what applies in Greencastle and Putnam County.
Spring thunderstorms regularly drop branches across west-central Indiana, but state law keeps yard waste like limbs, leaves, and grass clippings out of landfills. Brush has to go to composting, chipping, or a yard waste program rather than household trash.
Indiana law has barred households from putting televisions, computer monitors, and laptop computers in trash bound for a landfill or incinerator since 2011. Older tube sets contain lead, so they need to reach an electronics recycling program instead.
Indiana prohibits putting lead-acid batteries in household trash, and retailers that sell them are required to accept used ones. Garage cleanouts in Greencastle often turn up old car, tractor, and mower batteries that belong in that return stream.
On cold Putnam County evenings a fire pit can look like an easy fix, but Indiana's open burning rules prohibit burning household trash and construction or demolition debris. Upholstery, foam, and painted wood release toxic smoke when burned.
Indiana bars whole waste tires from solid waste landfills, and businesses transporting waste tires must register with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Tires left in a yard collect rainwater and breed mosquitoes through humid Indiana summers.
Federal Clean Air Act rules require the refrigerant in fridges, freezers, dehumidifiers, and window air conditioners to be recovered before the appliance is scrapped or landfilled. Knowingly venting it, including by cutting lines, is prohibited.

(678) 884-4738Generally no. Items set out that your trash hauler doesn't collect can be treated as illegal dumping under Indiana law. Greencastle's local pickup rules weren't confirmed, so ask your trash hauler or City Hall what bulk items they take before setting anything out.
LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Greencastle starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee and each additional item is a flat add-on, with the exact total confirmed before booking. Traditional haulers usually price by truckload.
Same-day pickup is sometimes available in Greencastle, depending on Loader schedules and the time you book. Enter your address during online booking to see live availability. For outdoor pickups you don't need to be home if you leave access notes. For indoor pickups, someone should be there or leave access instructions.
Hazardous items like paint, chemicals, batteries and oils usually can't go in household trash or most hauler pickups in Indiana. Large bulk items often need special handling too. Check with your trash provider or the county for drop-off options, since local rules vary and weren't confirmed here.
Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance by local charities and recycling facilities. Items that can't be donated or recycled go to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition, so none of this is guaranteed.
Book online, choose your items and a pickup window, and see your total before you confirm. On pickup day, Loaders arrive, load the items and haul them away. Pickup from a curb or driveway saves $5, and indoor pickups just need access to the items.
The main difference is the pricing model. Truckload haulers like 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Junk King typically give an estimate based on how much space your load takes up. LoadUp prices per item online, so your total is confirmed before booking. For big full-house cleanouts, a truckload hauler may suit you better.
Yes, it can help when students or landlords near campus have furniture and leftover items to clear quickly. Pickups can be scheduled online, and Loaders try to donate or recycle usable items when options allow. Check your lease or university move-out rules first, since some items may have other drop-off programs.
