The Problem

Getting junk out of Deer Valley shouldn't take weeks

You search for options, try the city's website, call a few haulers and wait for callbacks that never come. One quote arrives vague, another never does. Meanwhile the pile in your garage hasn't moved an inch.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

City bulk pickup programs can be a good deal if your timing lines up. Municipal pickup schedules run on their own calendar, though, not yours, and some items fall outside the rules. You still have to drag everything to the curb yourself and hope it's collected.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to see the load in person before they'll commit to a number. Then the quote comes in fractions of a truck, so you can't really tell what you're paying for until the job is done and the final bill is on the table.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers have to be selective, and that's fair. Stained upholstery, worn mattresses, broken appliances and outdated electronics are often turned away. Even items they'd accept still need loading, hauling and unloading by you, during their drop-off hours.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off bin makes sense for a full gut renovation, not a cleared-out spare room. You coordinate delivery and pickup windows, check whether your HOA allows it, give up your driveway for days, and still do every bit of the lifting yourself.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Local Disposal Rules

The Deer Valley disposal rules most residents don't know

Putting pool chemicals or paint in a trash cart puts city employees and the environment at risk, so Deer Valley residents follow these City of Phoenix rules within Maricopa County.

Rule 01

Fallen monsoon branches have an off-schedule disposal route

If a summer monsoon brings down limbs and you have no bulk appointment booked, Phoenix Public Works says to cut the branches into small pieces, bag them, and put them in your regular trash container. Branches in bulk piles must be less than 4 feet long and 12 inches across.

Rule 02

The northern transfer station takes one free resident load monthly

Phoenix residential customers who pay solid waste fees may drop off one load of up to one ton per calendar month at North Gateway at no charge. Bring a current City services bill and photo ID that matches its name or address. You may have to weigh in and out.

Rule 03

Tires are banned from bulk piles in any size

Phoenix bulk trash collection does not take tires of any shape or size. Instead, city code lets each residential user bring up to five used motor vehicle tires per year to a city disposal facility at no charge.

Rule 04

Pool chemicals and paint go to a yearly home collection

Phoenix keeps household hazardous waste such as pool chemicals, antifreeze, oil, batteries, and paint out of bulk piles and out of trash and recycling containers. Residential solid waste customers get one scheduled household hazardous waste home collection per calendar year, and it also takes electronics.

Rule 05

Bulk trash pickup now requires one of four yearly appointments

Phoenix dropped neighborhood bulk schedules and now uses appointments. Each household gets up to four per year, with up to 10 cubic yards each time. Set piles out no more than seven days ahead, at the front of the property and never in the alley.

Rule 06

Appliances that use refrigerants stay out of bulk piles

Appliances that use refrigerants are on Phoenix's do-not-include list for bulk trash. Residents can take them to the North Gateway or 27th Avenue transfer stations instead. Both stations charge a separate refrigerated appliance fee for each unit.

Only with a booked appointment. Phoenix Public Works runs bulk trash by appointment, and Deer Valley is part of Phoenix. You can set items out up to 7 days before your date. Piles left out without an appointment can draw a violation notice.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Deer Valley starts at $80, and curbside or driveway pickup takes $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.

Eligible Phoenix households get four free bulk trash appointments per calendar year, resetting each January 1. Each one holds up to 10 cubic yards. If your pile is bigger or you need it gone sooner, a paid hauler can fill the gap.

Same-day slots are sometimes available, depending on Loader schedules in your area. Enter your address during booking to see live availability. For curbside pickups you don't need to be home. For in-home pickups, someone should be present or leave access instructions.

The city's bulk program excludes household hazardous waste such as paint, oil, antifreeze, pool chemicals and batteries. It also excludes tires and appliances that use refrigerants. Oversized piles over 10 cubic yards are not collected either. Those items need a separate disposal route.

Loaders aim to donate usable items and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance by local partners. Items that can't be donated or recycled go to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes vary by item condition, so nothing is guaranteed.

You choose your items and pick a time online, and you see the total before you confirm. On pickup day your Loader arrives in your window, removes the items and hauls them away. Curbside pickups can be done without you being home.

The pricing model. Traditional haulers usually charge by truckload and often confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online and locks the total before booking. Truckload pricing can suit very large cleanouts, while per-item pricing fits smaller jobs.
