The Problem

Getting junk off your property shouldn't take all season

You call the county, look up drop-off hours, leave messages with a couple of haulers, and wait on callbacks that never come. A few weekends go by, and the pile is still sitting right where it was.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Without a town government, there's no scheduled bulk pickup coming to your road. The free options usually mean loading everything yourself and driving it to a county drop-off site, where size limits and accepted-item rules can send some of it back home with you.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Plenty of haulers want to drive out and look before they'll name a price, and that visit can take days to set up out here. After that, truckload-fraction pricing makes it hard to know your total until the truck is already loaded.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers have to watch what they accept, so worn upholstery, scuffed finishes, or anything missing a part often gets turned away. You still have to haul it there yourself, and whatever they pass on rides home in your truck bed.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off can make sense for a full renovation. For a single garage or spare bedroom, you're booking delivery and pickup, giving up part of your driveway or yard for days, and still doing all of the heavy lifting by yourself.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Neighborhoods Served

Serving Concord, from Route 460 to the back roads of Campbell County

Concord has no city bulk pickup to call, and not everyone owns a truck or trailer for a run to a drop-off. So the dead freezer in the shed and the pile behind the garage just sit. Your Loaders are happy to carry them down that long driveway, load up, and give neighbors their space back.

What Happens to Your Junk

Donation first, recycling second, landfill last

Piles that have built up in a garage, shed, or back lot rarely have one destination. In Concord, your Loader sorts items by condition, so usable pieces can be reused when possible and the rest is handled responsibly.

Gently Used

Donation Pickup

Furniture and household goods that are clean and in good shape may be set aside for donation where available. Your Loader separates them as items are carried out, though no specific outcome or receipt is guaranteed.

  • Tax-deductible receipt by request
  • Diverts waste from landfill
  • Free up your space and help a neighbor

Visible Wear

Recycling

Items that are worn or damaged but not fit for donation, such as scrap metal or old appliances, may be taken for recycling when local options allow. Your Loader sorts them while loading.

  • Materials sorted and recovered
  • Diverted from landfill where possible
  • Compliant with local waste regs

Heavily Damaged

Responsible Disposal

Heavily damaged or contaminated bulky items, like waterlogged furniture or broken-down mattresses, go to an appropriate disposal site. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading, so you don't haul anything to a drop-off yourself.

  • No logistics or transport to handle
  • No sorting or drop-off required on your end
  • Local disposal fees covered

Local Disposal Rules

The Concord disposal rules most residents don't know

If you take a mattress or a pile of shingles to the wrong drop-off site in Concord and Campbell County, the load can be turned away and you'll have to make another long drive.

Rule 01

The Concord Turnpike collection site is in Lynchburg, not Concord

Campbell County residents can drop off household hazardous waste and electronics for free on collection days. These events are held at the Concord Turnpike Convenience Center in Lynchburg. Bring a completed Household Hazardous Waste/E-Waste Verification Form from the Region 2000 Services Authority.

Rule 02

Concord's local convenience center does not take furniture or appliances

The gated Concord site takes residential household waste at no charge. Large items such as appliances, mattresses, furniture, tires and televisions have to go to the Livestock Road Convenience Center in Rustburg, which is open every day.

Rule 03

After a local disaster, take debris to the main landfill

After severe storms or any other local disaster, Campbell County asks residents not to bring yard debris, damaged appliances or larger household goods to the area convenience centers. Take these materials to the main landfill site on Livestock Road instead.

Rule 04

Concord residents can now recycle without sorting first

Concord is one of four Campbell County convenience centers with new co-mingled recycling compactors, so you no longer need to sort recyclables before dropping them off. Signs on site show which materials go in recycling and which go in regular household waste.

Rule 05

Renovation debris is accepted, but roofing shingles never are

Livestock Road only accepts construction and demolition waste from improvement projects at the owner's own home in Campbell County. Shingles are never accepted at this site. They must go to the Region 2000 Landfill, so plan a separate trip for a roof tear-off.

Rule 06

Brush and yard waste now have a three-day drop-off window

Under a Board policy that takes effect July 1, 2026, the Livestock Road transfer site will accept brush and yard waste only on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. On other weekdays, you can take natural debris to the Region 2000 Services Authority Landfill.

Not for pickup. Concord is unincorporated, and Campbell County has no free curbside bulk service that I could confirm. Residents haul items to the county's Livestock Road convenience center in Rustburg, or hire a hauler. Dumping on roadsides or private land is illegal.

The Livestock Road Convenience Center in Rustburg takes household items, clean brush, tires, appliances, small bulky items, oil, and batteries, and it is open 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Construction debris and larger loads go to the main landfill, open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Concord starts at $85, and curbside or driveway pickup takes $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on, and the exact total is confirmed before booking. Self-hauling to the county landfill is cheaper but you do the lifting.

Same-day pickup is sometimes possible, but availability depends on Loader schedules near Concord and the Lynchburg area. Enter your address during booking to see open times. You don't need to be home for curbside or driveway items, as long as they are accessible.

Items like paint, solvents, chemicals, and electronics are poor fits for regular trash. Lynchburg's free annual Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling day accepts them from Lynchburg and Campbell County residents with photo ID and a verification form. Latex paint is not accepted there.

Loaders aim to donate usable items to local charities and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to a licensed disposal site. Outcomes vary by item condition and what local facilities will take.

Pick your items and address online, see your price, and choose a time window. Your Loader typically gives notice before arriving, then removes the items from where they sit, whether that's a garage, a porch, or the driveway. The total is confirmed before booking.

The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers often charge by truckload and may confirm the price on site. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. For a big cleanout, a full-truck hauler can still make sense.
