The Problem

Plenty of ways to ditch junk here, none quite fit

You look up the county pickup rules, call a few haulers, and wait on callbacks that never come. One quote sounds vague, another needs a site visit. Meanwhile, weeks slip by and the junk is still sitting there.

Free city pickup is great, when it works

Prince George's County bulk trash pickup can help, but it usually has to be scheduled ahead, often limits how many items you set out, and may handle appliances or mattresses differently. You still have to drag everything to the curb yourself, on the county's timeline instead of yours.

Traditional haulers play pricing games

Many haulers want to see the job in person before quoting, then price by fractions of a truckload that are hard to judge from your driveway. The number you hear on the phone can shift once the crew arrives, which leaves you guessing until the very end.

Donation centers are picky (rightly)

Donation centers need items they can resell, so stained upholstery, scuffed dressers, and older electronics often get turned away. Most also expect you to load and deliver everything yourself. That still leaves the worn, broken, and bulky pieces sitting in your basement or garage.

Dumpster rental is overkill for one room

A roll-off container makes sense for a full gut renovation, but it's a lot for one cluttered room. You may need permission to place it, you have to coordinate drop-off and pickup, and it can block your driveway or annoy neighbors for days.

What sets us apart

Your price is locked before pickup day

Most companies charge by truck space, and the price often changes on arrival. LoadUp charges by item, based on exactly what you're removing.

  • Per-item, predictable. First item includes the pickup fee. Every add-on is flat, no truck math, no hourly rates.
  • Locked means locked. The price at booking is what you pay. No adjustments, no surprises.
  • No-obligation quotes. Big job or full cleanout? Text a photo for a guaranteed price first.

Local Disposal Rules

The Camp Springs disposal rules most residents don't know

If you put a refrigerator or tire out with regular bulky trash, it can be left at the curb. These are the disposal rules for homes in Camp Springs and across Prince George's County.

Rule 01

Scrap tires need a separate pickup request through PGC311

Tires are not part of the weekly bulky set-out in Prince George's County that needs no appointment. Residents request a scrap tire pickup through PGC311 instead. This keeps tires out of regular trash loads and off roadsides, where dumped tires collect standing rainwater.

Rule 02

Yard trim goes out on Monday organics day, not trash day

The County collects yard trim together with food scraps on Mondays, separate from regular trash and bulky pickup. From June 30 through September 30, curbside collection starts at 5 a.m., so set out yard waste the night before.

Rule 03

Four bulky items a week with no appointment needed

Since July 1, 2024, homes with County-contracted collection can put out four bulky items each week next to the trash can on their regular collection day. The limit used to be two. Townhome residents place items in front of their unit or assigned parking space.

Rule 04

Electronics recycling is scheduled separately from bulky trash

Old electronics go through the County's electronics recycling pickup, which residents set up through PGC311. Don't leave devices out with the weekly bulky items. Scheduling a pickup keeps devices with batteries, circuit boards, and screens out of regular trash collection.

Rule 05

Winter storms can pause bagged and bulky trash collection

When severe winter weather stops County service, bulky trash and bagged items wait until regular routes start again. This happened in early February 2026. Keeping cleanout bags indoors until service restarts stops them from freezing into snowbanks or blocking plowed curbs.

Rule 06

Refrigerators and other white goods require a PGC311 appointment

White goods (large appliances) can't go out with the weekly bulky set-out and must be scheduled through PGC311. Refrigerators, freezers, and other units that hold refrigerant fall under federal rules that require the refrigerant to be recovered before the appliance is scrapped.

Only bulky items set out under the county program. Residents with County-contracted trash service can put out up to four bulky items once a week next to the trash can on collection day, with no appointment. Anything else left out risks being treated as illegal dumping.

LoadUp pricing for junk removal in Camp Springs starts at $85, and curbside pickup takes a flat $5 off. The first item includes the base pickup fee, each additional item is a flat add-on charge, and the exact total is confirmed before booking.

Availability depends on the day and your address, so the booking tool shows open time windows once you enter your Camp Springs address. Next-day slots are often easier to get. For curbside pickups you generally don't need to be home.

Not for curbside pickups, as long as the items are outside and easy to reach. For items inside the home, someone should be there or you can leave access instructions when booking. Your Loaders will confirm timing ahead of arrival.

The county's curbside bulky program has limits. It caps how many items you can set out each week, and mattresses and box springs must be fully covered in protective plastic. Items in HOA or common areas aren't collected. Scrap tires, white goods and electronics need separate handling.

Yes. Prince George's County accepts household-generated trash from residents at no charge at its Brown Station Road facility, while commercial loads pay a per-ton rate. Doing it yourself is the cheapest route if you have a truck and the time to haul it.

Loaders sort items and try to donate usable pieces and recycle materials whenever options allow, depending on what local charities and recyclers accept. Items that can't be donated or recycled go to an appropriate disposal facility. Outcomes aren't guaranteed.

The main difference is the pricing model. Many traditional haulers price by truck volume and may confirm the total on site. LoadUp prices per item online, so you see the total before booking. For small jobs that can cost less, while very large cleanouts may suit a truckload hauler.
