It is not mandatory to dry paint prior to your scheduled appointment, but it is recommended. This makes it easier on our Loaders as a courtesy. It’s also better for the planet as paint can be toxic to our environment and may be required by local Brazoria regulations. To dry out old paint for disposal, remove the lid and let the paint air dry in a well-ventilated area away from children and pets. You can also add a paint hardener or an absorbent material like kitty litter, sawdust, or shredded paper to speed up the drying process.

Before throwing old paint away, look to see if Brazoria County has recycling programs for hazardous items. You can also call local schools and see if they’re in need of paint donations.
