Junk has a way of piling up until it's all you notice. Here in the Springs, LoadUp gets it gone with a quick pickup and a clear price before you book.
You look up county rules, call the garbage company, request a few hauler quotes, and wait on callbacks that never come. A week goes by, then another, and the pile in the garage hasn't moved.
Boyes Hot Springs is unincorporated, so there's no city program here. Bulky item service runs through the county's franchised hauler instead. That usually means scheduling ahead, sticking to item limits, and dragging everything to the street yourself, which is hard on a hillside lot or narrow drive.
Lots of haulers want to come out and look before they'll give you a number. After that you get a vague truckload estimate that can go up once the job starts. You end up taking time off just to hear a price you can't count on.
Thrift stores and charities have to be careful about what they accept, so worn upholstery, stained mattresses, and broken pieces usually get turned away. Even when they take an item, you still have to load it and drive it over, and the rejects are still sitting at home.
A roll-off container takes over your driveway for days, and putting one on the street may need permission first. On small Springs lots it blocks parking and annoys the neighbors. And you still do all the lifting for a job that might fill a corner of the bin.

Hauling a dresser down Highway 12 on a weekend, stuck behind tasting-room traffic, is nobody's idea of a day off. Small lots and cottage garages leave little room to stage a pile. Your Loader handles the lifting, carrying, and loading, because we'd rather show up for neighbors here than watch a weekend vanish at the dump.
Bulky items pile up fast in a place like Boyes Hot Springs, and where they end up matters. Your Loader sorts each item by condition, favoring donation or recycling when local options allow before disposal.
Furniture and household goods that are clean and in good shape may be donated when local options allow. Your Loader sets these pieces aside and loads them separately from items that are worn out.
Items that are damaged but still have usable materials, like metal frames or wood, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them during loading so recyclable pieces stay out of the general load.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or contaminated bulky items go to disposal. Your Loader carries them out and loads them securely, then they are taken to an appropriate facility for the Boyes Hot Springs area.
Setting out the wrong item can leave it at the curb or get it turned away at the transfer station. These rules apply in Boyes Hot Springs and unincorporated Sonoma County.
Sonoma County lists porcelain toilets as a no-fee recycling item at the Sonoma Transfer Station, the closest county disposal site to Boyes Hot Springs. You have to remove the seat and metal hardware first because the site won't accept them with the porcelain.
Zero Waste Sonoma's HHW Rover picks up household hazardous waste at your home by appointment and serves a different region each Wednesday. Pickup is free for seniors and housebound residents. Others can drop off waste for free at the county facility if they bring ID showing they live in the county.
Boyes Hot Springs is in Recology Sonoma Marin's unincorporated service area. Residential customers there get four free bulky pickups a year, up to 3 cubic yards each. The account must be in your name, and liquids, dirt, ashes and anything over 6 feet are not accepted.
California law bans putting e-waste in the garbage. County disposal sites take TVs, laptops, printers, microwaves, Christmas lights and similar items with no fee. Appliances, batteries and fluorescent lamps are not part of that free drop-off.
Boyes Hot Springs is unincorporated, so eligible property owners can use Permit Sonoma's Residential Curbside Chipper Program. It offers up to two hours of free chipping, and a second visit is possible. Your piles must be built, accessible and ready before you apply online.
California law requires every mattress retailer to take back a customer's used mattress and box spring at no charge when the new one is delivered. County sites recycle mattresses instead of landfilling them. They won't accept heavily soiled or wet mattresses, bed frames or mattress toppers.

Loaders aim to donate usable items to local charities and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance. Whatever can't be donated or recycled goes to a licensed disposal site. Donation and recycling aren't guaranteed for every item.

The pricing model differs. AAA Rousse says its pricing is based on weight, load time, and accessibility, and truck-based haulers often quote by load. LoadUp prices per item online and confirms the total before booking. A large cleanout may suit a load-based quote better.
