Junk has a way of piling up until it's one more thing on your list. LoadUp makes clearing it out simple for Blackstone Valley homes, with a real price before you book.
You search online, call town hall, and leave messages with a few haulers. One quotes a vague range, another never calls back. Weeks go by, and the pile in the basement hasn't moved an inch.
Town programs can handle some bulky items, but there are usually limits. Some items may need a sticker or fee, some aren't accepted at all, and pickup has to fit the town's schedule. You still have to drag everything out to the street yourself.
Many old-school haulers want to see the job in person before giving you a number, then charge by how much of the truck you fill. You don't know the real cost until the crew is standing in your driveway, and by then it's hard to say no.
Donation centers need items they can actually resell, so stains, wear, or missing parts can get something turned away. Many also won't take large appliances or older electronics. You can end up loading the car, driving over, and driving most of it back home.
A roll-off container is made for big renovation jobs, not one cluttered spare room. You may have to sort out permits, wait on delivery and pickup windows, and give up your driveway for days, which is a real ask on a tight multi-family lot.

Anyone who has wrestled an old dresser down the narrow back stairs of a mill-era multi-family house knows how that goes. Basements here hold decades of stuff, and the stairs never got wider. Your Loader does the lifting, carrying, and loading, and we love showing up for neighbors who have carried enough already.
Bulky items pile up fast in Blackstone homes, and where they end up matters as much as getting them out. Your Loader sorts each load by condition, favoring donation or recycling when local options allow.
Furniture and household goods in clean, usable shape may be set aside for donation when local options allow. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading, and no paperwork or receipt is implied.
Items that are worn or damaged but still have usable parts, like metal frames or appliances, may be recycled where available. Your Loader separates them from the rest of the load when possible.
Heavily damaged, soiled, or broken bulky pieces that can't be donated or recycled are taken for disposal through appropriate channels. Your Loader carries them out so you never haul anything to a transfer station yourself.
Massachusetts waste bans let disposal facilities turn away loads holding restricted items, so knowing these rules before a cleanout in Blackstone, Worcester County, saves a costly second trip.
Since November 2022, Massachusetts has prohibited disposing of textiles, including clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, and curtains. The ban covers stained or torn items too, because collection programs can recycle them into rags and fiber even when they are not wearable.
Massachusetts allows open burning of brush only from January 15 to May 1, with a permit from the local fire department, and only on days with acceptable air quality. Leaves, grass, stumps, and construction materials can never be burned.
Massachusetts bans asphalt pavement, brick, concrete, metal, wood, and clean gypsum wallboard from disposal. Mixed loads from a remodel generally need to go through a construction and demolition processing facility that pulls out these recyclable materials first.
Massachusetts was the first state to ban cathode ray tubes from disposal, a rule that covers older televisions and computer monitors. CRT glass contains lead, so these sets must be recycled rather than placed out with household trash.
A Massachusetts waste ban that took effect in November 2022 prohibits disposing of mattresses. Most of their steel, foam, wood, and fabric can be recovered, and their bulk makes them difficult to handle at disposal facilities.
Large appliances, known as white goods, are banned from disposal in Massachusetts. Units holding refrigerant, such as refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners, must have it recovered under federal Clean Air Act rules before the metal can be recycled.

Often, yes. Same-day or next-day pickup is typically available when you book before noon, though it depends on Loader availability for your address. For curbside jobs you don't need to be home. For in-home pickups, someone should be there or leave access notes.
Yes, the Blackstone Valley Regional Recycling Center at 14 Chestnut St. charges no sticker fee for Blackstone residents. Some items carry separate disposal fees, and you need your own truck and time to haul it. A pickup service makes more sense when you lack either.
Loaders aim to donate usable items to local charities and recycle what they can, depending on acceptance. Items that can't be donated or recycled go to licensed disposal sites. Outcomes vary by item condition, so nothing is guaranteed.
You choose your items online, pick a time window, and see your total before confirming. Your Loader typically calls or texts ahead of arrival. On pickup day they do the lifting and loading, so you only need to point out what's going.
The main difference is the pricing model. Traditional haulers often price by truckload and may confirm the final price on site. LoadUp prices per item online, so your total is set before booking. For a few items that can be cheaper, while a full cleanout may suit truckload pricing.
