Junk has a way of piling up until it's one more thing on your list. Book LoadUp for a quick pickup and see your real price before you commit.
You search online, call the county's garbage service, request a few quotes and wait. One hauler never calls back, another wants to come look first. Weeks slip by, and the pile in the garage stays put.
Alta Sierra Ranches is unincorporated, so any free bulky pickup goes through your county garbage service. It usually has to be booked ahead and comes with item limits. Brush piles, hazardous items and remodel debris often fall outside the rules, and you still drag everything down the driveway yourself.
Many haulers want to see the pile in person before giving a number. Then they price by fractions of a truckload that are hard to judge from your garage. The total can change on pickup day, and a long drive out to your property may get added in.
Donation drop-offs want items that are clean, working and undamaged, so a sagging couch or a tired appliance often gets turned away. You load it, drive it into town and may end up hauling half of it back home again.
A roll-off makes sense for a full remodel, not a garage cleanout. You juggle delivery and pickup windows, look for a flat spot that a sloped lot may not have, put up with neighbors staring at it for a week and still do all the heavy lifting yourself.

Loading a sagging sofa into a pickup, strapping a tarp over it, and making the long drive to a disposal site and back is a whole Saturday in the foothills. Skip the tarp and the tailgate gymnastics. Your Loaders lift, carry, and haul it away, because the people of Alta Sierra deserve their weekends back.
Foothill properties collect bulky items fast, from worn sofas to storm-damaged patio sets, so where things end up matters. In Alta Sierra Ranches, your Loader sorts each item by condition, favoring reuse when local options allow.
Furniture, tools and household goods in good, clean condition may be set aside for donation when local options allow. Your Loader handles the lifting and loading, and availability depends on what nearby organizations currently accept.
Items that are worn or damaged but not donatable, like metal frames, old appliances or electronics, may be recycled where available. Handling depends on local options and the item's condition, so outcomes vary.
Heavily damaged, soiled or contaminated bulky pieces, such as broken furniture or ruined mattresses, are taken for responsible disposal. Your Loader hauls them to an approved Nevada County facility, depending on current local operators.
Burning the wrong material or leaving cleared brush near a home can bring a violation notice, so here is what applies to cleanouts in Alta Sierra Ranches and unincorporated Nevada County.
California regulates pressure-treated wood from fencing, decking, and landscape timbers as treated wood waste because it contains preservative chemicals. It cannot be chipped, burned, or reused as mulch and must go to a facility approved to accept it.
The Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District allows residential burning of dry yard vegetation only on permissive burn days, and fire agencies suspend burning during fire season. Burning household trash, plastics, or construction scraps is prohibited statewide.
California law treats major appliances as materials requiring special handling, so refrigerant, mercury switches, and PCB-containing parts must be removed by a certified operation before the appliance can be crushed or recycled. Landfilling an unprocessed appliance is not allowed.
Nevada County's vegetation ordinance and California law require defensible space up to 100 feet around structures in wooded areas like Alta Sierra. Piles of cut brush left near a home can count as a fire hazard, so cleared material should be chipped or hauled off.
California classifies household batteries, fluorescent lamps, and electronic devices as universal waste that is banned from regular garbage. Western Nevada County's household hazardous waste collection operates at the McCourtney Road Transfer Station for these and similar materials.
Ranch properties often collect worn tires, but California requires a CalRecycle waste tire hauler registration and tracking manifests to transport ten or more at once. Loads of nine or fewer can be self-hauled to a facility that accepts tires.
